Tommy Braxton's father goes to war and never returns, forcing Tommy to become the man of the house and help support his mom and sister. After being bullied by the other boys in his neighborhood,Tommy decides to enter Jackie A in the local stock show competition in hopes of winning enough money to save the farm. This is one of those feel good movies that the whole family will enjoy despite the PG rating. Review: this is a good clean and family movie - this is a good clean movie for the whole family and it has lessons to be learned. a lonely boy who lost his father has a friend in the mule and can relate to this animal. it even is entered in a contest and just because it is a mule doesn't matter concerning being in a contest because it is the event that matters. the good guys always win the victory.

a good family movie with a talking mule!
It is really refreshing to see a family movie like this one come along-there are so few of them out there these days! This tells the story of a young boy,Tommy,who must become a man after his dad goes off to war and never returns. this is a good clean and family movie

Great Family Movie
Tommy and the Cool Mule is a really great family movie about a boy and his special bond with his mule (who happens to be able to talk to Tommy, when no one else is around). Some funny moments all around. Kevin Sorbo's character is a hoot! The movie teaches kids about doing the right thing in the face of adversity. No foul language or inappropriate scenes. Our family gave it Two Thumbs Up!

Too much puppy love
I thought it'd be a good movie for my 7 and 8 year olds, but found all the puppy love crush stuff inappropriate, especially for the ages the characters were supposed to be. They actually had a kissing scene between 14 year olds (ages of the characters). And not a quick kiss either.

Tommy & the Cool Mule
I bought this movie for my grandson's 6th birthday and he was thrilled. This is his favorite movie that his parents rented several times from the video store, so now he has his very own DVD to watch whenever he wants to. This is a great movie that the whole family can enjoy with life lessons messages throughout it.

Super family entertainment
Such an enjoyable film to watch with old-fashioned principles. There's so much "nothing" in movies now a days so this was really wholesome entertainment for our family. I'm going to watch it again with more of my grandchildren.
