As the market leader in motorcycle Wireless Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems technology, Big Bike Parts introduces their latest system. This all new design incorporates a large 1-5/8 inch x 1-1/8 inch LCD display screen mounted in a slim 2-7/16 inch x 2-5/8 inch x 3/4 inch handlebar mounted monitor. It easily mounts to round handlebars or can be face mounted to the brake cylinder face clamp. The handlebar clamp assembly will allow fitment on 7/8 inch, 1 inch, or 1⅛ inch handlebars. The monitor quickly slides into or out of the mount to allow quick removal and remounting. The lightweight, ounce sensors feature the latest technology in external sensors on the market and are water resistant. Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) are a proven way to increase fuel efficiency and extend tire life. No tire rebalancing is needed and each sensor comes with a patented anti-theft ring to not only prevent theft, but loss from improper installation. The sensors have a unique 20 minute battery saver mode as well as G-Force sensing to wake them up. The monitor comes with its own one hour battery saver mode to insure long life on all components. Includes instruction manual, all batteries, and a silicone protective skin for the monitor.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT!
FIRST IMPRESSIONS: I'm very impressed with this deluxe TPMS. It's very accurate and works as advertised. It comes with everything you need to mount it and has a rain cover.UPDATE: Two-thousand miles later...This TPMS is fantastic! It's a real treat to just wiggle the bike and have the pressures appear on the monitor. On cold mornings, I don't have to roll around on the garage floor to manually check the tire pressures.UPDATE #2: A year later and still going strong. Love this product!UPDATE #3 October, 2016, Just replaced the original wheel batteries. The low battery indicator just appeared. Wonderful product.UPDATE #4 October 2018 - The low battery icon just came on for the rear wheel. I installed new batteries in both wheels. So, my batteries are lasting two-years. The TireGard is still going strong. This is a great and reliable product. Side note: I've replaced the head battery twice since new so they last about two years also. How many times have you ridden off on your bike and wondered what your tire pressures were because you didn't have time to check them?I KNOW WHAT MY TIRE PRESSURES ARE EVERY TIME I CLIMB ON THE BIKE! This is a great safety feature. The TPMS's indicated pressures are very, very accurate and check absolutely the same as my manual tire gauge.

Decent TPMS system
After recently purchasing a newer motorcycle with a factory TPMS system, I realized this was something I wanted my other motorcycle. After much research the Tiregard was not the best system, but appeared it should do the job well. Out of the box this was a simple system to install and make operational. The sensors were pre-paired so once the batteries were installed the display was reading the pressures and reporting just fine. The instructions were clear and fairly simple, front and rear sensors were marked with a 1 and 2 respectively. These are external sensors so the install is easy. Though the lock rings come with it to prevent or deter theft, I did not install them as my risk is low. The display was easy to navigate and install on the handlebars.Overall a nice system. My only real issue is the temperature read. I believe that due to the sensor being outside the wheel/tire that the temp data is skewed by the ambient temperature. I plan to buy another aftermarket system for another bike, but I will buy one with internal sensors. I would recommend this product if temp is not a critical input for you.

Keep your expectations in check when you order this gizmo
I installed this item on my 2008 GL1800. The installation process is simple. However, the unit delays transmitting the tire pressure for several miles after you are on the road, and then sometimes only one wheel transmits. Turning the device off and then on sometimes causes it to re-set and transmit, sometimes not. I will say that when it is working and transmitting, it provides some sense of information that I would rather have than not have. However, it is useless as a tire pressure monitor when you first start up the bike with cold tires. You have to be rolling some distance for a transmission to take place and then you hope it registers on the read out. If my tires had an issue by then, I am sure I would know it and would not need the unit to display low pressure.I cannot understand what the high pressure indicator is for. You have no control over that, really, while heat and friction are such large determinants of pressure that is "too high."Overall, the unit seems well constructed, mounts easily and securely, and I would rather know what it displays than not know it. The utility of the information and the reliability of the transmission, is open to debate

Works when it counts
Works pretty well. The tire pressures do seem to wander a little but that doesn't bother me. The one time I picked up a nail it started flashing red at around 22psi giving me plenty of time to pull over while the tire was still plugable. That's the reason I installed it.Batteries on the handlebar unit lasted around a year. The pressures get more random as the batteries die out. Still have the original batteries in the sensors.I installed metal valve stems when I installed it. The guys at the shop had customers who had gotten cracks in rubber stems with TPS systems.

Readings are all over the place
This product is easy to install, but the pressure and temperature readings are all over the place. I had 38psi in my front tire and 40 in my rear. The display read 35.5psi for both tires. On a 300 mile trip, the temperature readings did change slightly, but it took a long time before the pressure actually reached the cold setting. Also, the temperature actually goes down on the road, I presume because of the ambient temperature as the sensors rotate at high speed. The product advertises reading accuracy of +- 2 degrees....Absolutely NOT true. About the only thing this system is good for is to let me know that my tire isn't flat...at least, I guess it will do that....I haven't had a flat yet.

I won't ride without a TPMS
I will not ride without a TPMS and the TireGard works great. I use it on a Goldwing and it is a great way to monitor tire temperatures and pressures. This version is not waterproof, but I've gone hours in the rain without the silicone cover and not had any issues. Gives me lots of peace of mind. One last thing, I prefer this model over the pocket/key chain version because it can tolerate cold weather. I have forgotten the pocket version on the bike in the garage, and with freezing temperatures had the the display crack.

30 day warranty????
I have had problems with the sensors connecting up to the display in a timely manner. It seems the rear sensor connects up consistently but it takes one to six minutes for it to happen. The front sensor connects up only 1/2 the time. I've replaced the batteries and it doesn't help. If I unscrew the sensor then screw it back on, it will connect. When it did connect, it worked as expected. As this problem started after the 30 day warranty period by Amazon, I am concerned I am stuck with a faulty product.
