Black Sand
This is a great product that I would recommend to anyone. It's not too cheap and not too expensive.It's already rinsed off when it ships to you, so you don't have to rinse very much if any before sticking it in an aquarium.The grains are bigger than you'd expect for "sand", but nowhere near the size of gravel. That's good though, because it doesn't blow around in the aquarium.Finally, SubstrateSource has excellent customer service, so that's definitely a plus!

SubstrateSource "Light Grey" Colored Aquarium..
I was rather surprised when I opened this package. I expected it to create silt and make the water cloudy and them settle down. I rinsed it which proved to be unnecessary. I poured it in my aquarium and the negative things I expected did not occur, The color has remained good and it is a positive addition to my aquarium; I would buy it again.

This sand is great, I bought it for one of my aquariums so my Synodontis Eupterus Catfish could have somewhat of a recreation of what it's used to.I did clean the sand before I put it into the tank and after that there was no cloudy mess in the water like what some sands tend to create. The "grains" of sand are bigger than I thought they would be, (about the size of Roosevelt's ear on a dime), but it looks good regardless and the fish seem to love it.I would absolutely purchase this again.

Wish it came with a bit more, but nonetheless I like it so far. It's hard to find any grey sand around here, and this fit my needs perfectly.

Black Sand - 3 pounds
My Tiger Oscar love to dig this sand a lot. I bought a total of 9lbs. of this sand (6lbs. & 3lbs.) I really like this sand and will order more for an upcoming 75 Gallon tank. While sand is low dust and rather clean, it's still wise to take that extra step in washing the sand which I did. Shipping was very fast. Cheaper to buy in 6lbs. pack rather than 3lbs.
