Highly Recommended
**spoiler alert**Having read the Kylie Brant's ("Brant") Mindhunters' series and quite enjoying them, I didn't hesitate to give "11" a try, and I'm so glad I did. Once again Brant weaves a terrific tale of suspense and mystery, with a little romance thrown in, engaging the reader right from the start. The fact that she includes Adam Raiker from the Mindhunters' series was surprising and quite intriguing. That and the protagonists, Jude and Mia, two very strong and complex characters, both of whom have endured unspeakable horrors at the hands of sick, vile members of the human race. What I really appreciated was how the romantic angle came about slowly. Jude having dealt with Mia five years earlier, didn't think much of her then and certainly didn't give any thoughts to her now until Adam Raiker requested to see her. Five years earlier, Mia claimed to have been kidnapped, tortured, and raped for three years by a man she dubbed "The Collector." After escaping, no one believed her story. Not the police, the private detectives she hired, and certainly not her father. Jude still questions her claims, and once he catches up with her, clearly lets her know that he doesn't have any trust in her. With the discovery of a murdered girl, and other bits and pieces that corroborates Mia's claim, Jude realizes how wrong he was to quickly dismiss her, judging her based on how she was perceived by newspapers. With Mia being tired of always being on the run, and having recently found by one of The Collector's subservient, Mia decides once and for all to find The Collector even if it means at the cost of her life. Like I mentioned earlier, it took quite a while to get to the romance that slowly develops between Jude and Mia. I was quite surprised and disappointed at how little was spent on their personal relationship. I would've loved to have read more about their feelings for one another. No matter, I'm just grateful there was no "insta-love" or quickly falling into bed.As much as I enjoying reading this novel, I found "The Collector" to be a little bland. Yes, he's vile and cruel, but perhaps more about him and his treatment of the girls would've shown just how sadistic he really was.I was a little disappointed with the ending. I honestly thought Mia's father would've re-entered her life apologizing for not believing her and basically not recognizing her as his daughter.I'm not sure if "11" is part of a new series, or if it's just a stand-alone. Regardless, I highly recommend this novel for those who truly enjoy reading novels of full of suspense.

Amazing read that keeps you on your toes!
A great mystery read for mystery lovers! Mia was one of a dozen girls kidnapped and added to The Collector's collection. After enduring torture and repeated sexual abuse, Mia finds a way to escape her prison. Not knowing where she is or where she is going, Mia's story is unbelieved by the police who don't make an effort to locate the monster and stop him. Jude is a the owner of a private security company. After enduring his own horror during his childhood, he helps Mia disappear after she become a pariah. A well renowned profiler asks Jude to find Mia because he believes what she endured truly happened after a body is found in a remote mine.Mia is in Asia hiding and witnesses her roommate being killed by the collector's favorite collection piece, Four. Jude is also in the same country knowing Mia is there and helps her escape from Four and leave the country after she is named a person of interest in the death. Upon returning to the US, Mia helps the profiler and Jude as much as she can to find the collector. After a series of clues leads them to a suspect, Mia is kidnapped by The Collector so he can re-add her to his collection. After a little guess work, Jude knows who The Collector is and goes to find Mia. After Mia is saved, the clues left at The Collector's home lead the police to the other women so they can be rescued.A great mystery read with a touch of romance between Jude and Mia. The story keeps you on your toes constantly guessing who The Collector could be. After Mia is kidnapped again, the reader is taken on a journey through Jude's mind and how he came to determine he was in love with Mia. An incredible story of one girls survival, a beautifully scarred security officer, and a crazed madman who is trying to complete his collection. A definite must read for and mystery lover.

A generous 3 out of 5 for '11'
Kylie Brant is one of my favorite romantic suspense authors, a definite preorder for me.'11' starts off with a bang, as the author introduces readers to 'The Collector'. Also, I enjoyed catching up with Adam Raiker from her Mindhunters series. However, something about the plot line of '11' left me with too many questions and disbeliefs, and for the first time ever in a Kylie Brant novel I found myself skimming through several chapters! In my opinion, it was a stretch that no one believed main female character, rich girl Mia DeLeon's account of being abducted and held captive by The Collector. She had enough financial resources to hire top of the line security expert Jude Bishop to protect her and help create new identities for her, yet I wondered why she didn't use her resources to hire the best private detectives to investigate her claims. Five years after her escape from captivity Mia is hiding in Viet Nam, and realizes she is being hunted by The Collector. She is rescued by Jude who returns her to the USA where she plots to escape her protection and deliberately puts herself at risk as bait. Her reason: Mia feels she needs to do everything possible to help rescue the other women being held by The Collector. So why did she wait 5 years to do this if she was so concerned for these other women? And why wouldn't she want the assistance of the top security firm run by Jude as her back up? Also, I felt it hard to believe that her abductor, a wealthy man in his own right, sent one of his 'Collection' referred to as 'Four' clear across the world to Asia to return Mia to him. 'Four' had been his prisoner for so many years, yet she was capable of getting on a plane, traveling alone to a mostly non-English speaking country, renting and driving a vehicle? How did she get a passport? What ID/credit card could she possibly have? The author also didn't give enough back story as to what created and motivated her 'Collector." This elaborate plot line of keeping women alive, in perfect condition, sexually assaulting them, but never leaving bruises or marks, not getting them pregnant required so many convoluted explanations that added to my disbelief. Perhaps these things don't bother other readers like they do me.This is strictly my opinion, and certainly new and returning fans of Ms Brant may disagree with me. I just felt that there were too many times I needed to suspend my disbelief for me to give this novel the 5 stars that I would have liked to give.

Fantastic read
I almost read this book in one sitting- it was only the need to sleep, as I had work the next day which stopped me. It is a heart stopping page turner. No spoilers from me- but if you like edgy thrillers with gritty life weary characters/ smooth evil villains...then you wont be disappointed. Would make a brilliant Netflix.

A good read in isolation- if you read any of the authors other books you'll get bored very quickly as they're all basically the same.
