Perhaps a little underpowered
I volunteered to take a whole bunch of cassette tapes with lectures on them and burn them to CD for the leader of my group. What I found is that sometimes he says a person sounds too slow or too fast. It is great that there is a speed adjustment on the unit, but I find that depending on whether the cassette tape is a C 60 or C 90 or it is an old tape or the tapes mechanism perhaps causes it to slow down, I find myself having to use the speed adjustment. I think if the motor in the cassette player were a little more beefy I would not have to do this and all the tapes would come out the same speed wise. It is not always easy to adjust the speed and get it not too fast and not too slow but just right. Also, I had a few trials and tribulations in Windows 7 to get all the settings correct.I ended up going back to an old boombox I had and putting the tapes into it and using its headphone jack to plug into my computer. My advice is that if you know all of the use you will get out of this machine will be short tapes or tapes that won't be bothered by the comparatively weak power of the motor in this player that it is not a bad deal.I cannot speak to the durability as I really did not use it that much before my leader started complaining.I would not buy the specific machine again, and if you have an old cassette player hanging around the house I would suggest that you do not either.I noticed that there were several players out on Amazon like this one but with different names and different vendors. I think some are the same basic machine. Perhaps some may be better, if you are the adventurous type.

Do not buy this piece of junk!
This unit's "wow" (distortion because of unsteady, varying playback speed) is extreme. The frequency of the music being played back warbles all over the place. Completely unusable item, especially for audio archiving purposes, which is exactly what this unit is sold and advertised for. This one's very cheaply made (plastic's very low quality - "fit and finish" are toy-like). This unit's defective out of the box and I don't trust a replacement to be any good. I'll use my tape deck and an RCA-to-USB converter, which I should have done in the first place. I thought this unit would save me setup time but it's useless.Don't waste your good time and money on one of these pieces of junk. Completely unusable!

converter player cassette to mp3
very easy to set up on computer and convert songs unto the CD's but there is a catch. Your songs will not play back on any disc player. only good if you play it on the computer. Very disapointed to know it was a waste of time. Not with the product. it works fine and fast, but I was hoping that the CD's could be used on any musical player.

TsirTech Tape to MP3 Converter
I own this device and one other very similar but made by a different manufacturer. It is a waste of money and time. The motor doesn't have enough power to transport the tape smoothly and so the resulting MP3 sounds like garbage. The tape was new so that wasn't the problem and it happened with both devices. Their price is indicative of the quality you're not getting.

Inadequate
This very poorly made product does a very poor job of digitizing audio tapes. The WOW, flutter, and distortion is the result, apparently, of an inadequate drive system. The first two tapes I digitized were actually not too bad, but it has become worse with each additional tape I record. Also, the background noise is increasing with each new tape. I have replaced the batteries, I have obtained and plugged in an external power supply, but it seems to be rapidly deteriorating. It's very disappointing.

Cassette converter
This was fast shipping and everything was perfect! The product price was better than department stores. You can get almost anything on amazon. I have a lot of cassettes and this really works!

The invitation watch is for giants..the stir tech audio tape to mp3 adapter is for people with a lot of time on their hands.
The indicts watch is much to large it looks like an alarm clock on a strap. Very heavy I sent it back. The tape to cd product was not for me. Takes forever to transfer a tape to the computer..can only transfer one song at a time. It would take me months to transfer 100 tapes. If you have no life and al the time in the world this might work for you.if not fugetaboutit!
