I've revised my judgement
Upon reflection, I now choose this cookbook as my favorite for cooking quinoa grains. The food photography is superior, and I have found the recipes me to my taste, and I prefer the quality of the paper.. I was also attracted to this book's vegetarian focus.I purchased at least five cookbooks devoted exclusively to cooking quinoa, and some of the five were clunkers.I have found cooking quinoa a little challenging, but the reward in finding a satisfactory way to cook this excellent grain will be worth the trouble

Well organized and nice photos, too
If you can't find a recipe that you love in here, your taste buds don't like quinoa! And the best part is it's vegetarian, too!

Nice recipes!
I've been testing out the recipes for a while before writing the review. I have to say, these are very good. Many are gluten free, dairy free or can be made so with a slight alteration. They are very tasty and nothing is ever made to feel lacking or dull. Love it, even my omnivore darling loves the food!

I made two recipes from this book and both tasted awful. My husband and I are not picky enters at all, but we, and in one case, our guests, agreed that these were not successful recipes. I am returning the book. BTW! Why do so many vegetarian and other "healthy" cookbooks insist on cooking without salt? Would not have helped these dishes, but just a general observation. Nothing wrong with listing a salt suggestion and labeling it "optional".

Good food, easy to cook
Have only had time to try one dinner and it was out of this world. Hard in Oklahoma to eat vegetarian but this book has it all. Quinoa is very good.

Love this cookbook! Made the minestrone/ quinoa soup and it was fabulous. So easy too. Haven't tried anything else but I have a lot of marked pages of things I want to try!

Simple, nutritious vegetarian recipes in well laid out and nicely pictured book
First up, i'll get the negative out of the way. This book has busted a huge myth for me. I am a vegetarian and had tried quinoa a few times (my sister's cooking as she tried to prepare something healthy for me, not as part of any recipe but just adding a few flavours and mixing with vegetable to get my daily protein allowance). I had heard so much about this quinoa being ranked so high when it comes to protein. However, this book quickly pointed out that this is not a high protein food! This was a huge disappointment though not a downside of the actual book. The reason it is hailed a super protein food is because it contains all of the amino acids in one source in contrast to other vegetarian sources of protein. However, the book does display how much protein is in each dish (some have quite reasonable amounts 9-17g) and suggestions for increasing the amount of protein per meal.I must say i have absolutely no regrets about buying this book. It has the most mouthwatering looking meals in it with beautiful colourful photographs (a surprise given the boring looking grain itself). The meals are highly nutritious and the sweet dishes sound and look to die for so i'm really interested in trying these especially. I had never thought of using this grain in a sweet dish before.A huge plus for this book is that it uses products the majority of people will have in the cupboard (apart from Canola oil the American name for Rapeseed oil). This oil seems to be suggested because it is good at high temperatures and almost tasteless so doesn't affect the flavours of the dish. I intend to try coconut oil instead in a few dishes to see how they taste as this has the same qualities apparently and i have it in the cupboard. The dishes look quick to make with little preparation involved which is another bonus. The breakdown of major nutrients such as carbs and fat are given under each recipe.I haven't tried the recipes yet as i literally just received it and skimmed through it. I can't wait to begin though. I'll update if necessary later. I would definitely recommend this book to others.

Great Cookbook
I love the recipes. Easy to buy for and great pictures . Good tips and history on quinoa too! I learned a few things...especially how important it is to soak it.

Tons of great ideas!
I've been a vegetarian for most of my life, nearly 20 years now! I am always looking for great ways to incorporate more grains and seeds into my diet and I always have a hard time finding a book with plenty of ideas... until I found this one! And I am so happy I did! There are so many great delicious ideas in here and you have ideas for every course, appetizers, salads, mains, sides, snacks and desserts. I havent tried the snacks and desserts yet but I cant wait to do so!The only reason I am not giving this 5 stars is because there are not enough pictures for me. I like all my recipe books to have pictures of every recipe, these really inspire me when I am looking for something delicious to eat. This book has about 1 picture for every 4-5 recipes. The quality of the book + pictures however is beautiful!

Great buy.
I bought this after taking it out of the library and realizing that most of the recipes looked amazing, the ingredients were accessible, and the instructions were very clear. Beautiful pictures throughout. Wide variety of meals, snacks and desserts. Slow-cooker veg lasagna is great.
