Drawing Manga People and Poses

The drawings are good but ya they are all drawn in the same simple style. It is a good reference (girl w phone, girl w purse, girl sitting, girl standing etc) but I mean, so is the internet, so I don't know if it was worth it for me. I could've source more variety from the internet. Also I got a little bored w the style. I am an amateur artist so not a beginner.

If you're anything like me, seeing "Draw(ing) Manga" on any book is enough to set off red flags. It isn't from a distaste for the medium, but rather the volatile quality of instruction books. It goes without saying that there are a lot of subpar how to draw manga books, so it's refreshing to stumble upon one as good as this.Drawing Manga People and Poses has a wide variety of poses (hence the title). The poses are generally very natural and range from a wide variety of perspectives. Additionally, they're all drawn in a very appealing style. It's neither so detailed as to lose the manga aesthetic nor is it so simple as to appear amateurish. It makes it easy to flip to any random page and find something to draw.The book features a small section on how to draw in the beginning. While appreciated, I don't believe it would be enough for a complete beginner to work form. As such, if you're new to drawing I wouldn't consider this as a first book to purchase. Rather, it's is best used in conjunction with other drawing manuals.

It's a good book full of poses, but I bought it as a reference for MANGA. Judging from the cover, I expected a realistic style but I was hoping for some battle or action poses because I'm drawing a Shonen manga. But the book is really well done and there are lots of everyday poses to choose from.

Great book but not what I was expecting, it shows the poses but in most instances it does not show how to actually create the pose from start to finish. This book is not for a beginner. It is more of a reference book. I bought this book on amazon.com

Even if you are not necessarily looking to upgrade your drawing chops, Drawing Manga People and Poses by Ryo Hirata is a visual spectacle of gorgeous pose artwork by a skilled artist who has lent his talent to Nintendo games and Production I.G animations alike.

I love this book. It shows you how to draw your character or person, in every angle and every position. It helps me a lot to know how a certain angle looks when im drawing one of my characters. I recommend this book to any artist trying to better their work.

Excellent teaching tool for the self-taught artist as well as art students. Great images of current , contemporary poses of youths in daily activities! Extremely helpful for the artist.

I expected there to be more poses. It sorta just tells you to look at firgures and draw them. Then gives a few poses.

the illustrations are beautiful! great for pose drawing...not just for manga style but for all style! dont be fooled by the title in thinking that its just for manga artists.

En lo personal este libro me parece muy bueno para la práctica del dibujo de la figura humana, aunque la idea es que sea dibujo Manga, puede resultar bastante útil para los que no sean muy fans del manga, ya que los ejercicios de las distintas poses (humanas) resultantan bastante reales, Ryo Hirata tiene una técnica muy buena. Ojo, este libro no es para aprender a dibujar, no empieza con lo más básico, es para los que ya tienen algunas bases de dibujo de la figura humana y quieren prácticar con distintas poses.

Sin duda una de mis mejores guías para el estudio del dibujo manga, muy completo en su contenido ya que enseña a dibujar pliegues en ropa, expresiones, y distintos ángulos para la cara y cuerpo.
