It does a decent job of protecting the show when it's on, and it looks good. However, sliding it on and off your shoe the rivets on the sides scuffed the bajeesus out of my leather boot. So, if you're buying this to protect the shoe from scuffing, it just creates another problem. I'm going to wear my old boots for now and then get a dedicated riding pair of boots in the future.
