well made, sturdy, good size for canning, nickel free
Together the stockpot and lid weigh 7 pounds and feel sturdy, with a thick 3-ply aluminum-clad bottom to heat evenly. The lid seals tightly and has enough weight so it doesn't rattle from boiling liquids. I find this 20 quart stockpot a good size for canning, with a 11.75" inside diameter and 10.25" inside depth to hold 7 one-quart jars. A magnet will attach to the lid, sides, and bottom of the stockpot which is consistent with ferritic class type 430 (18% chromium, 0% nickel) stainless steel.

What a fantastic item! And there was still room left in ...
I used this pot for the first time today. I made meatballs using 5 pounds of ground beef and 15 cans of crushed tomatoes for sauce. I kept the heat on medium low and it did not burn at all! What a fantastic item! And there was still room left in the pot.

In the kitchen again!
Has been my one and only soup pot since purchase. Pot has a nice heavy bottom for even sustained cooking and cleans nicely. If I do get anything stuck to the bottom, either a nice simmer with some water or a little baking soda does the trick. I'm not sure the advantage to those more expensive stock pots, this pot seems comparable. Unless you are a high volume restaurant operation, this pot should last a long long time and see many wonderful foods!
