My 2 1/2 year old loves it as much as I do!
This is one of those rare children's books that doesn't make you want to hide it. I hate to bash a classic but Green Eggs and Ham drives me nuts (to name just one example). This book, on the other hand, is entertaining for children as well as adults. Heck, any children's book that mentions Bernoulli's Principle has got to be worth something! The story and the illustrations are very cute and it's never to early to introduce the "principles of aerodynamics" (which the egg didn't understand). Also it's not too wordy. But really the true test is if the kid asks you to read it. In that most important regard this book is a winner.

Excellent read for my science unit with our egg drop engineering project! I highly recommend it as a literacy piece to be included in a science module

Adorable story!
Bought it for kindle and it captivated the whole family. Toddler, Daddy and Grandpa all stopped to listen to the store of the egg that wanted to fly.

2 and 4 year old love this book as do I
I checked this out at the library and my kids loved it. It quickly became my two year old's favorite book so I got it for her for Christmas. Both of my daughters enjoy this book and it is fun for the reader as well. It teaches a lesson about patience in a comical way.

Egg Drop
Another delightful Mini Grey story with lots of adventure and "teaching moments," as an ordinary egg seeks to be anything other than ordinary.

A potentially dangerous book on many levels
This is an uncomfortable book. It is preachy, "The Egg was young. It didn't know much. We tried to tell it but of course it didn't listen." I would not give that message to a child. It teaches the child that adults know best, and lays the child open to obeying unsuitable adults. It shows an egg committing suicide - through ignorance, ok, but it is never-the-less suicide. It then gives the terrifying message, "We tried to put the Egg back together again, but nothing rally worked and shells don't heal." A message like that will program the unconscious of the child with terror of disobedience. The book ends smugly, "The Egg was young. It didn't listen. If only it had waited."Disobedience means death is not a good message.I love Mini Grey's artwork. I'm passionate about it. I collect her books. I think this one is a serious mistake.Children should be taught discernment along with obedience.

Lovely book
Beautiful illustrations that my three month old son loves to look at. Rather a dark ending but perhaps with a moral message for when my boy is a bit older (I.e. Be patient!).

Humorous
A lovely children's book. We spent ages looking at the pictures which have been done well. I think the ending went over my childs head a little bit, but me and daddy had a little laugh!

Five Stars
One of my favourite stories of Mini Grey - spoiler alert; it does not end well for the egg!

Soo funny!
Love this book as do the children I have read it too. It certainly puts a smile back on their faces when they come to me upset! Great story & pictures.
