Country Licks for Guitar - Book/Online Audio

Great book
This book gave me many new tools. Use what is in here for a foundation and make it your own licks, and you will be surprised what you and your guitar are doing.

buy it.
Steve has great licks, and is a great teacher, only downside to this is there is no click track to get ready for the solo, he plays it full speed with a band, and then slow w/o backing. However, this might be a great way to learn, you hear how the lick should sound, start out slow so you can get the licks under your fingers, and speed comes in time. Steve always has great licks, and there are no boring ones to sort through, straight to the meat and potatoes. no filler.

good stuff if you've been playing for a while....
def. not for the begginer....but that's good for me since i've been playing for a long time........only gave it four starts because i like when these types of books have the examples in actual musical settings....which this one doesn't....but overall a good book with some challenging stuff.....for the price a good bargain.

Good Riffs
Good book. I recommend it if you are interested in country music and new to the "country style". I have played rock and jazz for over twenty years and I found this book helpful.

Classic Country Licks
I owned this book & cassette 20+ years ago when it was "Country Licks" by REH. My brother stole the cassette, so I had to find it on CD. The licks are exactly the same, just repackaged by Hal Leonard. Learned them all, but had too find it again. Worth the $$.

Steve Trovato is a Master
Trovato, like his colleauges Don Mock and Keith Wyatt, is a Master at his craft. Trovato's forte being Country Rock, Mock being Jazz and Wyatt being Blues. Even better that this transfers easily over to their way of teaching. For those that think that country playing is hokey, try incorporating these licks into your playing. Good luck with the intense string bends and pedal steel licks.Another great book by the Country Rock Master.

No for beginners or hobbyists
I want to caution amatuer players against buying this. In my opinion, it is too challenging for your average guitarist, perhaps most guitarists. It seems to be geared towards session players. The licks sound great and have half speed versions to practice to, but, all in all, aren't appropriate for the repetoires of intermediate players.

Very Good
I really like this book. It has some very useful licks for playing country guitar. The book is well organized and easy to understand and the licks have all kinds of different flavors and speeds to them. You can tell this book was written by someone who knows country music. So far, this book is my favorite for learning licks from.

For beginners only
Some great licks, some cliche boring uninspired stuff. Nice when you are a beginner. Advanced players will be disappointed.

Country Licks For Guitar TAB Book
I have picked out and working on quite a few Licks from this book. CD is most helpful playing licks at full speed and then very slowly.
