Best book ever
My grandson and I read this book over and over and over again. He found the illustrations and basic story funny and I found the underlying puns and jokes hilarious. Most fun book we've done.

Fun for all ages!!!
This book rocks. My 2 year old LOVES Humpty and I needed to spice up story time. Although it is more of a paragraph picture book, the entire story captivated him enough til the end. I love how the author wrote the story, making it very easy to get into characters while reading aloud. It's so much fun with lots of other great characters from other Mother Goose favorites. I would give 10 stars if I could, and can't wait to read over and over again! Thank you Jeanie Franz Ransom!!

A great mystery for a young reader
I had never read this book before, but ordered it for my classroom library after reading the great reviews. It came in a timely manner, and in excellent condition. I read it for the first time as soon as it arrived. I am so excited to see how my kids will enjoy this book. This book is filled with references to other nursery rhymes, and fun illustrations. This will be a great resources to teach kids how to draw inferences!

One of my top favorites.
I just received this book. I loved it! I bought it for my seven year old but since heโs in school right now, I read it to my infant. She has no clue what Iโm reading but the pictures are colorful & cute. Im the one that enjoyed reading it. Im about to order another one for a family member who is a teacher. Her students will enjoy it.

Great for upper elementary
Adorable mystery story that incorporates many aspects of mother goose fairytales. Too wordy for little ones, but perfect for 3rd to 5th graders. In fact, I used this book to introduce my 5th grade class to the elements found in mystery narratives and it was a big hit!

Surprisingly enjoyable
I loved this story. Great for adults as well as children. A different take on the classic nursery rhyme. Adults will appreciate the dry humor & irony; while children will recognize other nursery rhyme characters and different take on the standard tale. Lots of questions/discussions as to who , what, where, when. Good book for encouraging independent thought.

One of my favorite ways to teach mystery to students
One of my favorite ways to teach mystery to students. Use a picture book and this one is perfect because the students know the characters. It has all the items a mystery needs to have including red herrings. (The kids love that part!).
