Keep your AKGs and Shures, and I'll keep my money! Go Hixman!
Knock me over with a feather. This is a GREAT microphone. Audio quality is wonderful (recording quality), and it can take a full-on trombone blast with no distortion! I bought it for use with an AKG wireless system. It works great with that, but the real quality came through when I ordered the preamp-adapter. A wired-setup (requires phantom power) really lets this mic shine. I will continue to recommend these mics to any of my horn-playing friends who a little freedom on stage. There is NO reason to spend 5 times as much on Shure, AKG or Sennheiser.
