Very sturdy
This is much bigger than I was expecting, but it is great. It's about 8" long when folded up. I use it with my Droid Xyboard 10.1" and it supports it very well.I could definitely see people using it for small laptops. It is very sturdy, very well built, and looks expensive. I will probably buy a second one for the office instead of toting it between home and the office.Update: The little feet started having trouble staying folded in and my son broke one rather easily. Keep it in the included sheath and you won't have to worry about that though. I tossed the sheath because I thought the pocket in my back-pack was going to be all I needed. Don't toss it!Still a 5 star product!

Reading at the Table
This is the best table-top holder for a Kindle currently available. It's sturdy, and adjustable, and has some fine features. The only flaw I can report is that once you get it to the exact angle and height for comfortable reading, it doesn't "lock" in place. So, I still have to be careful moving it (which I do when I want to, for instance, read the newspaper. However,it doesn't fall apart, so that's a minor inconvenience compared to its otherwise useful and sleek design. Overall, this is a well engineered product, and I'm grateful to the Amazon customer Rep. who researched and found it for me. (It comes with a cloth carrying case, for those of you who travel, and it collapses into a compact package if you wish.) Mine came in Black, which is fine, but the package (which gives instructions how to set up) indicates there are other color choices as well).

Pretty cheap - only for intermittent use
I got something similar from the relax the back store for WAY more... that one has held up for years. Got this version to use at work, but it seemed so flimsy I decided to return it. Would work great for occasional use (such as with travel) - but for everyday desktop use, go for something sturdier, like the rain design stand.

Worthless due to feet breaking
As other reviewers have mentioned, those dinky fold-out plastic feet (without which, the item is useless) are, well, dinky. Mine broke the second day I had the thing. I think if you like to prop your laptop up at only a slight angle, you'll be okay, but, if, like me, you want it up pretty high (to make the top of the screen at eye level), you'll have major problems. Even before it broke, I was having trouble with it, because if I so much as BREATHED on my laptop, it would slide off the stand to one side or the other. That's how it eventually broke (laptop was touched slighlty on the right side, causing the left side to rise up off the foot, then come crashing down on it).It might seem harsh to give it one star due to the foot breaking but since that renders the product worthless... It really is a flawed design. Make the feet stronger. Or make them NOT swing out like that. (What's the point of them being able to fold in? Just to make it slightly skinnier when not in use?)Two other things bothered me about this product as well. First, that it was so slippery (the back has a rubber base but not the front legs, which was part of the problem that caused the laptop to keep slipping/jumping out of it). Second (a more minor complaint), having bought this for ergonomic reasons, I was horrified to see them, on the box, encouraging people to TYPE on their laptop while it's on this thing. It's bad enough they sell keyboards tilted like that (SO bad for your wrists!). Before anyone responds to this review by writing that they think that it's more comfortable to type like that... Please, just google "ergonomics, typing" or something like that, for 10 minutes, and re-think your stance. You should NOT be typing like that. If people want to destroy their wrists, they can, but I'd prefer that the product not encourage it. Some people might not know better. In sum: I bought this so I could put my laptop on it while typing on my Goldtouch Go Travel-sized ergonomic keyboard on the desk in front of it, but, after just two days, I was back to my "stack of books" method and $15 poorer. Waste of money. Does anyone know of a similar but less shoddily made product? One that has stronger feet for holding up the laptop, and rubber grippers on the parts that touch the desk?

Nice concept, mid to long range durability is in doubt
I ordered this stand to use with a 15" MacBook Pro. Upon receiving the item and opening the packaging, I discovered that one of the little "feet" that open from the main legs of the stand was broken and would not lock in the open position. The result was that the stand had no support on the left side for my laptop. It wouldn't even hold my ipad - the device just slid off the stand onto the table. The good news is that I contacted the seller to request a refund and they replied within 12 hours. The said they would refund my costs and I could keep the defective item - they did not want me to return it. As an alternative, they also offered to ship me another stand in lieu of a refund if I wanted to give it another shot. Since I liked the concept of the stand, I had them ship another to me.The replacement arrived in 1 week and does not have the defect that the original stand has. It has been supporting my MacBook Pro without incident for the past week. I can see the feet are under stress from the weight of the laptop and my guess is that it is only a matter of time before one of them breaks, but I will use the stand until that occurs. My laptop is positioned in a way that would not allow it to fall off the desk, so the risk of damage to it is low.

Super Useful & Versatile
We had a cricket stand (similar to this) which was very useful. When we needed another, we found this instead. Not sure if cricket makes these, but this was much nicer than the last one we bought. The feet on this extend out to hold bigger laptops. It also comes with a carrying case, great for travel. Adjustments allow for different angles, feet width and length are all adjustable. Nice looking, durable and useful.
