Probably the best book out there if you are new to baking bundt cakes
I have been using this as my GO TO cake book for years now, so this is an informed review! I bought it years and years ago when I stumbled on a bundt pan at a thrift shop and couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do with it when I got it home. Her introduction/techniques section taught me more about baking cakes than I had learned in years and years of following recipes from other cookbooks. I don't use the book now as much as I used to -- but for a very good reason -- she gave me such a foundation in putting together a successful cake that by now I kind of know what will "work" and can adapt recipes or invent my own variations by taste and instinct. That to me is the sign of a REALLY good cookbook. It doesn't just give you a group of recipes to follow, it actually helps you understand how the recipes work so you can become a more creative baker. Especially informative, for me at least, was the whole section on baking fruit flavored cakes. What an eye opener! Read it and you will totally understand how to create a blueberry or strawberry cake with bright stong fruit flavor. I still make her "Basic Chocolate Cake" all the time too. It's my kids favorite dessert year after year. They ask for it again and again and never get tired of it. And it is simply divine as an afterschool snack -- I make it with no icing, just a sprinkling of powdered sugar on top and serve it with a big cold glass of milk. Heavenly! This cake is so good that my daughter promised I'd bake it for the whole class on her birthday -- and after the party her teacher emailed me to ask for the recipe! What more can I say? I have other books I go to for more sophisticated recipes. But none of those other books produce the consistent high quality results with their recipes. And in many cases I've ended up using Kiss My Bundt as a guid to troubleshooting what went wrong with a flopped recipe and how I can fix it. Truly a great book -- if you want to learn how to bake a cake OR how to prevent flops and fails this is the book!

Best Bundt cake cookbook out there, and it has changed how I make cakes
I looked at a lot of Bundt cake cookbooks before buying, and this cute little book is the best for bakers who want to bake from scratch. Chrysta Wilson offers her bakery recipes for traditional cakes like red velvet cake, various pound cakes, and much more, but she also offers her secrets to making out-of-the-ordinary cakes for which I had always wanted to find the best recipe, like blueberry cake, strawberry cake, and fresh ginger cake. This is a cookbook for the thinking baker who wants to understand why certain recipes work and, using this understanding. to be able to come up with his/ her own variations and new recipes. I have been baking for 45 years and consider myself an advanced baker, but Chrysta Wilson’s method for mixing the cake batter to guarantee a tender crumb has changed my cake-baking for good and forever! (Very excited about this, which is life-changing!) As soon as I got this book, I made the red velvet cake, and it was the best red velvet cake I have ever had: the flavor and the crumb were spectacular. I cannot wait to try all the recipes in this book. As an experienced baker, I can tell that the proportions in all the recipes in this book are right on and will give good results. Give this book a try!

do not buy, waste of money.
do not waste your money, no pictures of any kind, except a few in middle of book. Very confusing considering its a recipe book. The ingredients are not always right after the title. Its a mishmash of thoughts and ideas. I will donate it because its not worth returning it for a $10.00 book.I am hoping my mistake will save others. Believe me, just save your time and money and buy one of the other larger and pricier hardbacks. Oh and by the way, someone else mentions the bazaar pics in here, should have listened. They are cartoon pics of the author, very weird.

Get the hard copy, you'll use it for the rest of your life.
This book is fantastic. Well written, very informative, and the recipes are delicious! I have tried several of them as well as the glazes and am so pleased but if it were not for the helpful hints Ms. Wilson provides, they wouldn't have come out as good. I really appreciate the cooking lessons, the reasoning behind using different types of flour, extracts, etc. She gives practical advice, no snobby "there is only one perfect way to make a cake" attitude. This book is making me a much better baker and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Fantastic book explained well. Only thing I would say is there are no way near enough colour photographs which I think is important with food. Definite best buy this year
