I saw a review and someone posted a video indoors of the device working which made me think they had it plugged into the wall. I realized it may not be getting enough power. The trick is to use 2.1A power source in your vehicle and it will work as described. A regular usb outlet from the car probably will not provide enough power to the device for it to work properly. Hope this helps!Original Review: The device does not work as described. The arms keep opening and shutting without cause. The instructions says it should do that for a few cycles to test tension. However, they did that for my entire 20 minute ride to work. Then I tried it again after work with the same result.

This product is not good for charging cell phone , it is heating phone and stop to work so please do not buy this product, not good at all

When I upgraded my phone from a Pixel to a Pixel 3, I came to the realization (too late!) that my phone holders in my car would not work for it. I used a magnetic one on the dash for winter and a ring holder on my vent for summer (the AC keeps the phone cool). Neither can be used with a wireless charge phone. This has worked great (for summer anyway) and it's very easy to use - just set the phone down and it clamps automatically, and it comes out in one easy movement with one hand when you get out of the car. I don't know how it will work during the winter (vent mounts mean heating up your phone during winter and built in cooling in summer), but for now, it's fantastic. I love that it's charging while I'm driving without me having to plug it in.

Gave this a try and wasn’t impressed from the get-go. Tried it out as a test straight out of the box, and noticed that the retractable side arms did not firmly hold my phone in place. It was loose. Quality was not the greatest. A bit cheap to be quite honest. It’s chrome plated plastic, definitely not metal.I wasn’t satisfied with my purchase and returned it for a refund.

It is a very bad charger !it will Keep open and close when you driving, Special you are running on the highway, you can get kill when you picking up your phone! Don't buy it

falls apart, will not hold on vent , cushions come loose, drops the phonewasted my money, seller claims that the unit is supposed to have one year warranty. however, did not reply to my solicitations and photos sent.

It was supposed to work with galaxy note 8 and it dont now I gotta find something different

Nice phone holder but only charges phones that are compatible. That's the reason for the one star on charging.
