I got this kettle for work since I'm not always working in the same building and we didn't have a kettle at work. This little pot collapses and comes with a nice hard case for storage including the cord. It's pretty easy to set up and take down although the cord is a bit short. I have also found that the cord is difficult to remove from the pot. This is good because it won't accidentally become dislodged but is also a pain because in order to pour from the pot, I have to either unplug it or hope that I have enough cord to keep it plugged in and pour at the same time. It does have a sensor so if the temperature drops below a certain point, it will automatically start heating again. It says that it can heat milk as well but it burns VERY quickly so I stay away from milk from now on. It's fairly easy to clean since it's silicone so it stretches to accommodate your hand. It does have an odd smell to it like many of the reviews mention. I cleaned it thoroughly several times, cooked in it several times, and it still held the smell. I think my tea had an odd taste for a bit when I first started using it but it quickly went away. I love this little kettle although I might get a regular one that separates from the heating element next time, simply for the convenience. This does pack small enough for me and I will keep using it until it breaks though.

I can't figure out what the bad reviews are about...this thing is great! I tested it out right away. I did not notice any kind of odor coming from the silicone. I did not notice any kind of film on the water after it cooled off. The handle was very easy to put on and take off. The water heated to a boil in about 3.5 minutes (I'm at sea level.) I had no problem at all with water sputtering out of the pot when the water boiled, because I'm smart enough to realize you have to have the lid turned to the "closed" position. Then, water poured easily and cleanly out of the spout after I lined up the little arrows so the lid is in the "open" position. (It's not rocket science, people!) I like how it shuts off once the water comes to a boil, but then will turn back on to keep the water hot. I make two cups of coffee in a single-serve French press, so this will be perfect for me! You just have to remember, if that isn't want you want, to turn it off after you pour your water out. Again, not rocket science. The case which came with mine is the one pictured in the ad, and the cord fits in there perfectly fine if sort of coiled and put into the mesh in the top of the case. Great case! I'll be bringing this with me on my next trip and it will be so nice not to have to deal with gross hotel room coffee pots and sub-par hotel coffee! Hooray!

I bought this as a gift for my husband for traveling, since he loves his coffee and doesn’t like most hotel room coffee options. Turns out we both truly love it. We have used it in hotel rooms and in our camper. We are headed to Europe and had planned to bring it along but we have now decided to go with only carry on luggage and felt like it used too much space. It is sturdy and more stable than I expected it to be. It heats water very quickly just like the larger one we have in our kitchen at home. It is easy to pop up and to disassemble and put away. It is very light weight, but in its case it does use a bit of space. If you travel with checked bags it is perfect to pack and bring along. Car travel or camper is absolutely perfect for this size. Plus the color is lovely. It does have a setting for use in Europe with their higher voltage outlets. This is a great gift for world (or local) travelers!

Smaller than expected, which is why it lost 1 star, but overall great product. I never use the coffee makers in hotel rooms because they can be gross. This offers the perfect solution for tea and coffee while traveling. Great to use with french press or pour over. It also doesn't take up much space after collapsing.

I purchased this because I am an avid coffee drinker and I was going to be traveling to Europe and wanted to ensure I had my morning coffee available each day without having to go out each morning to get one. I used my Bodum French Press mug, ground coffee, and heated up water in this kettle every morning for the two weeks we were in Europe and it was perfect! Didn't take long to heat up water at all and it gets HOT. There is no adjustable temp on this like you would see with a typical electric kettle, but that wasn't something I needed. The only issue I have with the kettle is that it's very difficult to see the fill line on silicone. If it were in a different color than the color of the kettle it would be easier. Very easy to clean and one of the best things is that it's super easy to take apart and put back together and it fits easily in it's hardshell carrying case. My husband was also able to use it for water for his tea. Although I don't use it except for traveling (I use it for any travel I do now, not just to Europe), it is totally worth it and I would highly recommend!

I work for the airlines and also vacation travel a lot. I carry a small pump-style portable espresso maker for work and when we travel since it’s our preferred caffeine medium. Some places don’t have hot water available in the hotel rooms (no tea kettles or just grungy coffee makers) so this is good for that. It would be overkill for just two espressos but we also travel with a couple of vegan backpacker meals on vacation since my wife is allergic to dairy and doesn’t eat meat and it isn’t always easy to find her a decent meal on short notice. She also has some blood sugar / hangry issues so it just makes sense to have a backup plan for her. This is great for those since they require more boiling water. It packs nice and flat with a nice case. It’s a little heavy but for me it’s worth carrying with me. The handle works pretty well and it’s comfortable to pour. The silicone is sturdy enough that it doesn’t feel like it’s going to collapse at any moment and having the option to use other voltages is really nice in other places in the world. It also boils pretty fast

I'll start with the caveat that I haven't taken this camping and I've only had it a short time (hours), enough to run some tests and decide that it's worth pursuing further. First I'll answer a few questions and doubts I had about the product before purchase.I bought the blue one in May 2023 and it did come with the case as shown in the pictures even though the listing states "zipper foldable storage bag".I saw concerns about removing and reinstalling the lid given the flexible body, these seem unfounded. If I'm not careful, yes, I could smash the body and cause a splash of hot liquid, but I don't think this is a serious concern. It's potentially holding hot liquid, handle it with an appropriate degree of caution. It's not difficult to remove or replace the lid without flexing the body. Also note that the lid leaves an opening for pouring with it on, it's not required to remove the lid to pour the liquid. I don't have concerns regarding the stability of the body attaching to the handle while pouring and I can easily put my thumb on the nub should I have doubts there.I see no evidence of oily film and especially no indication of transfer of such to the liquid inside with my kettle.I saw a video suggesting it would be difficult to clean given the accordion-like interior. Guess what, it's flexible! I can get a couple soapy fingers everywhere inside it.I saw concern over removing the power cord from the kettle with hot liquid inside. Again, handle it with the appropriate degree of caution. Wiggle the plug and it comes out. I imagine this will only get easier with use.At 5000ft elevation, the auto-off at boil feature does not seem to work. I let water boil continuously for several minutes and it never cycled itself off. Use only under supervision.Performance is pretty close to advertised. On the 110V setting, my Kill-a-watt shows it draw 780W and heats 12oz of water from 75F to 200F in 2m45s.For camping, unfortunately I don't have an 800W power station, but I do have a Bluetti EB3A with a 600W inverter (this is by no means an endorsement of the EB3A - it was on sale). This kettle will immediately trip the overload on the inverter with default settings. However the EB3A does have a "Power Lifting" feature which can be enabled in the app and claims to be able to run restive loads rated at up to 1200W at reduced voltage and current. In this mode is will run this kettle and the Kill-a-watt reports that it draws 540W at ~100V. It heats 12oz of water from 73F to 200F in 5m00s and in the course of doing so drops the battery from 100% to 83%.Another option, if you're power constrained, is running the kettle on the 220V setting from a 110V source (please don't do the opposite). In this mode the kettle draws only 200W and requires 11m00s to heat 12oz of water from 73F to 200F. Certainly a better result than even the advertised heating time from some of the 12V kettles on the market. Obligatory use at non-recommended settings at your own risk warning.

The TLDR is do not buy this, get one of those stainless steel ones instead.I really wanted to love this. It holds twice the capacity of similar travel electric kettles (555 ml is the perfect amount of heating up cup ramens and instant yakisoba vs 8 oz containers that won't quite get it there in a single boil), it folds up flat for shoving in a backpack, it's cute and tiny... but it just is awful.The handle cracks easily... I bought mine used because I try to buy secondhand whenever possible, but whoever owned this before also came across the same problem I did: the handle is Very difficult to get off from the base, and it creates a weakpoint in the pour handle that caused it to crack. I honestly would not have minded the crack if it weren't for the fact the handle is impossible to get off without proper leverage. My old lady hands cannot push hard enough to remove it.That could be forgiven pretty easily (as there is a convenient tipping tab there) if it weren't for the fact the plastic leeches into the water. You can see a film of plastic. I am Not the first person to use this... this is not the first boil. I washed the device thoroughly, scrubbed it with several scrubbings (in between each boil), and put it through the max amount to boil 4 times... and Still, on the 4th time, the rubber smell and obvious film of plasticy something in the water was noticable. This is not safe to drink out of.As a side note, the base itself is not detachable in any way, and there is no waterproof cover to use when washing the device, so it's just.. completely exposed to water and you have to wait for it to dry off before you can plug it in again. It makes cleaning tricky.I wanted to use this at a convention so I could heat up my lunch and my tea without having to leave the site, and it would have been perfect if it wasn't made out of gross cheap materials. A wonderful idea wrapped in awful packaging. It isn't even 'cheap' to reflect the price so it's extra disappointing. I definitely packed it right up to send back.
