This light is blinding even on low. I glued some diffuser film to the face of the frame with instant glue to remove the mild hot (bright) spots. It turns night into day. Buy the second battery if you are going long. Warning -This light (LEDs) just shut off without warning when the battery is discharged. Usually at the worst time. **Q: Might sound crazy but has anyone run this light on 12 volts?** A: My battery pack died long ago and I recently dug this light out of the bin to rig up on an ebike. Thinking the voltage was 13.something I plugged it into my 12V test bench to fit some pieces to help beam pattern, lo and behold the light fired up fine, ran it at every setting for 40+ minutes. Gets blisteringly hot, but then again it did that with the 8.4V battery too. I'll simply run it at 8.4V to be safe **Q: how long does it take to charge and how do i know if it's fully charged? I spent all day charging the battery and within 10m there was only 1 light..?** A: I initially charged it overnight, and it lasted for several weeks of ~1 hour long rides. However I don't ride with it always on the highest (brightest) setting - it has three brightness levels, and I usually ride with it on the lowest or middle level, only using the brightest level for short times when I really need the extra lighting. **Q: How long does it take to charge?** A: My experience with 2 lights was 6 hours and no charge. I got 1.5 charges out if 1 charger and no charges out if the other. I had to send them back, not even radio shack could help build a charger, because of the weird voltage. Sorry, but I wouldn't but another one.
