My first impression was positive. The tripod, compass, sat finder, cables, and dish, all looked first rate, But then it started going down hill. The kit includes a short flat, white, connector used after you use the sat finder to connect the dish cables to the receiver or RV or maybe run under a window or door (at first, I couldn't figure out what it was used for). It was defective and came apart in two pieces......so I had to improvise. The instructions were for a dish I didn't have and nowhere could I find the correct "dish type" to put in my tuner. I did find it here on Amazon in answers to questions. Then I quickly found the 101 satellite but could not find the HD satellites....... using my HD24-200 receiver. I then remembered that my receiver originally came with B-converters - later removed when converted to SWIM. Now- when I'm out of town with the RV ---- I need those B-Converters. I got the impression reading this product's Amazon description that I didn't need B-converters but elsewhere on the web, I see they are indeed needed. I called DirecTV and was pleasantly surprised as they FedEx's me the converter to my RV site. Hooked it up and it all works now (except local....I haven't fine tuned the satellite carefully as of this writing - but my first and quick adjustment with the BConverter is picking up SD and HD perfectly)Still, I've spent considerable time - first with the wrong manual and now with a missing part I need - on fiddling with this instead of vacationing. I'm wishing I would have spent the extra money for an automatic system. The King (~$600)is for SD only and the Wineguard ( $1500 for HD) are options. Before I received the converter, I did pull in many SD channels - including the new SEC - so all was not lost without HD. THere are some HD only channels but the channels I normally watch are in SD as well.

I give it a 5 for performance, a 2 for printed instructions. But a 4 overall (if that math works).
Bought this for our annual trip to NASCAR. Wanted to upgrade our old non-HD round dish to this oval HD dish. And the dish and the stand are awesome. The dish is new, has more than one tuner capability, and it's HD. What we wanted. The Tri-Pod stand is sturdy and solid.Once we set it up properly to get the satellite, all was good. The thing bad about this package is the printed instructions that came included. Putting the thing together wasn't just a one, two, three thing. And the instructions just plain suck. My buddy and I are not technically stupid and we have put together a ton of stuff. but we sat there stumped quite a few times putting this together. It was lucking that his house has a dish that we had to keep walking outside and use as a reference. And I don't want to be negative for no reason, but here is an example. The package come with everything you need, including some things that are not mentioned in the instructions. When we were finished, we had a bunch of stuff left over (the two long white strip connectors really had us stumped).I would suggest that the company invest in someone to write their own, easy to understand, step by step instructions of how to assemble this thing, not just provide the one written by the dish maker.

Very pleased, works great
I was a little reluctant to try an HD dish for my RV since I have heard stories about how difficult they are to set up. I had been using an old 18" round dish, but really wanted an HD picture for sports when we are on the road so decided to try this kit. This package works perfectly. It comes with a nice magnetic level to assist in aligning the stand, a really good quality compass, and an excellent meter to measure signal strength. I downloaded a free app, "SatFinder", that uses the GPS on my phone to give the Azimuth, elevation, and Polarization settings to set the dish for your current location. The first time I set it up, I used the recommended settings, aimed the dish at the 101 satellite, and got a signal on the first try. Using the excellent micro adjustments, was able to get signal strength in the high 90s in less then 5 minutes. Have set it up several times since then, and usually can get a perfect signal within several minutes. I also downloaded a for fee app, "DishPointer Pro", that lets you visually locate the satellites on your smartphone screen so that you can place the dish to get a clear view of the satellites. Comes in handy if you camp in the trees like we usually do. The only downside is that it is pretty bulky, the slimline dish is pretty large but necessary if you want HD. I also added adjustable levelers to the stand to assist in getting the mounting pipe aligned vertically.

liked everything about the product i received
liked everything about the product i received, received it very quickly too. my only concern was that i was sent the assy instructions for a 5LNB dish, the instructions were too drawn out and confusing. I really like what i received and am VERY HAPPY that i ordered this from Amazon

This product sucked
First, we didn't receive the tailgating kit. We had a message on our phone from some stranger in the next town saying they had come home and our dish was on their front porch. When we finally received it, there was damage and we reported that to the seller along with a request to help us make it work. It never did work and we returned it only to find out that the seller would only give us half of our purchase price because they tried to say the damage was done when we shipped but that was not true. Truth is the dish did not work, damaged or not.

Directv 3LNB Slimline Dish
This takes much more work than the average novice can handle, but it is a quality product. It stores out of the way easily when you do not need it and it sturdy for camping in rainstorms, etc.
