These are easy to apply
These are easy to apply, and for regular windows, I think they would work very well as added safety (when leaving windows open slightly for ventilation). I realized after I used them, that my windows are the kind that open inwards for cleaning, so when these are in place, and I pulled up on the window to "test" the Wedge, the window frame started to come out of its track and open. So, for windows that are made to open for cleaning, these Wedges aren't secure against someone opening the window. I wanted something I could use to lock the first floor windows, open slightly for ventilation overnight, when I sleep upstairs. This isn't the solution.

Gets the job done
We found these window wedges appropriate for keeping the window open a safe width and giving us some peace of mind for our daughter with a second-floor bedroom. That having been said, there are reviewers here that said that their children were able to defeat this method of childproofing, and I don't doubt it. If my child were dedicated enough, and unsupervised for enough time, to allow her to pull a chair up to the window, climb up, muscle the window down off the wedge (we have heavy/sticky windows), unlatch it from the velcro, and muscle the window back up, I'm sure she could defeat it, and likely many other varieties of childproofing that we've implemented around the house. However, as a reasonable deterrent, we found this to be a good method.

These might work great for others but wouldn't work on my windows
These might work great for others but wouldn't work on my windows, the frames are somewhat irregular. 3 stars because I can't really blame the product. But I wish it was more versatile!

Works well without damaging window frames
I purchased these for my kids rooms. We have new windows and they slide up way easier than the old ones. I like the ease of use, they install in 2 minutes, and I like that I don't have to screw anything into my window frames. My only complaint is that if you push up your windows too quickly the pointy ends catch and will leave divots in your window frames. I learned once and now I know that if you're opening your windows for fresh air you have to hold the pointy ends down until you get over them. Not a big deal, and still the best product for my needs.

Works for us, easy to remove if needed
These are a great solution for keeping kids safe while having upstairs windows open. We set them so that the windows are only open a few inches and my son can not open the window further. I think if you drew much attention to them. some kids might figure out how to remove them but they work fine for us. My son doesn't even know that it's possible to open the windows further. In case of an emergency, they are very quick to remove so that you could exit your home from the window.

Didn't stick.
They didn't stick right. When pushing the window up, it just pushed them right off. Then I tried to take them off manually and the sticky stuff got stuck between the panes. Anyway, I got that out, but the window won't go back all the way down now in order to lock it. I tried.

A unique housewarming gift!
I have purchased many of these for our double hung windows; we live in the city and we want to have the ground floor windows open sometimes without making it too inviting. These are installed to allow the windows to be opened about 4-5"; we put 2 per window. I am sure that with a lot of pounding and extreme effort they can be overcome from the outside but it would take not being seen and making a lot of noise. (We of course close the windows when we are not home.) These have been purchased as house warming gifts for others in our neighbourhood. Whilst our neighbourhood is quite safe, we do live in the city and there is no sense in tempting fate! If you are looking for these for keeping children from going out the window then they should be just fine up to the age that they can figure out how to lower the window enough to then remove the wedge from the Velcro, which does have a firm grip.

practical and easy.
Easy to stick on and easy to adjust when I want to open my window wider. They keep anyone outside from opening the windows much, but also help keep my kid from opening his bedroom window wide enough to fall out. He will figure out how to move these when he tries, the stopper is just stuck on a strip of velcro, but it'll be a while before he even notices them, and when he does his interest in them will be short-lived and then he will let them be again.
