Fishermen who have experimented with different fishing pliers will know that the Kraken Bass Fishing Pliers are a well-thought product.My favorite feature is the lanyard. Having lost a $100-dollar Leatherman to the depths of the lake, I appreciate being able to tie it to the belt loop on my pants. The sheath is unnecessary for my preferences, but the length of the coiling plastic lanyard is great for keeping the pliers in my pant pockets while providing me the range to unhook fish and handle lures. I'll never have to worry about losing these pliers.The materials are top notch and the pliers feel good in your hands. My fishing buddies and I have cycled through a couple of pairs of pliers because they rust or corrode, but I don't worry about that with these because they are aluminum.The plier action feels good and is smooth. I like being able to lock the plier heads with the same holding hand. The easily-reached lock on the side of the action makes this easy.Cutting your fishing line is simple and easier than regular pliers due to the dedicated cutting pincers on the plier heads. Great fit for my hands to give me precise leverage to maximize ALL of its many uses. Whether I’m on the river or in the boat, I appreciate this very thought out design. I’ve lost countless pairs in the water over the years, so the lanyard is long and easily attached to yourself or something on the boat. Plenty of flex to use at a good distance away from your anchor point. I love the split ring opener and side line cutter which my pliers never had. I always carried nippers, and pliers separate - Not now. I like how solid this is to crimp on my weights on my fly fishing tippet. Split ring opener can pry open those like a gem as well. I’m a geek and like a good case to keep things nice. They nailed the “all-in-one” with this one!

They forgot the hook sharpener but contacted basskraken and the my got back to me fast and sent me it. Both the pliers and hook sharperner are working great. Sharpening your makes a difference and is a must have for salt water fishing

Pretty much best pair of pliers you can buy for under $30. My only problem with it is the sheath that comes with it. Whenever you try and return the pliers back to the sheath, it will for whatever reason get stuck and not fully seat in the sheath. What I did was ended up cutting away bits of the sheath to make it easy in and out. Other than that the pliers are perfect. The cutters can cut braided line from 5lb all the way up to 50-60lb. Mono/flourocarbon line no issues cutting whatsoever. Many other features that I do not use but nice to have; Ring splitters, crimping, and many others. My only concern is going to be longevity. I’ve had them for over a month and fished almost 15 of the 31 days I’ve owned them. Will get back as I use even more.

It is really hard to believe what a difference a set of pliars can make in making a fishing trip more enjoyable. I've had these for three months now and am very happy with my purchase. They are a high quality tool and not cumbersome to use. These fishing pliars do the work of several separate tools. I use the belt clip so it is aways near. Also the clevis that is hook to the pliars keeps me from dropping it in the water. I've tried several other brands but they came up short. I highly recommend these fishing pliars to anybody who likes to fish with less tools to carry.

What a great value on an excellent pair of fishing pliers!! They have the best braid cutter that I have used. Cuts braid clean with no frays. The lock is easy to operate with 1 hand. They are nice & tight with no side play. The lanyard is a nice addition. No more misplaced pliers. I keep them stored on the outside of my tackle bag using one of the Velcro straps run thru the loop on the holster.

Finally! Someone made an all in one that is good quality and optimized for quick use. I have used so many different pliers and nippers in fishing, and it’s annoying to have to keep track of 3 different tools. The other ones that are all in one were either super easy to lose or drop or hard to get to, or you have to open them like a Swiss Army knife. I just dropped a pair to the bottom of a lake last week and spent 30 min trying to fish them off the bottom. I can pull it out of the sheath like a quick draw and the spring lanyard will catch it if I have butter fingers. Then I can clip my line or remove a hook or open a split ring in seconds and the springs and locks make it effortless to get my line back on the water.

These fishing pliers are by far the best I have ever used. Not only do they clip line with ease but they pull hooks from gills like nobodies business.I am always setting down my pliers and then losing them when I put on a new setup. These have a case that you hook to your belt and a line that keeps them hooked to the case for ease of use and no risk of loss. I would definitely buy these again but I don't have to because I'll never lose them :)
