Students always love it because it's full of the supernatural, sex, and murder, but helping them evaluate the text and get use to Shakespearean language is obviously a challenge. This graphic novel version of "Macbeth" is great because it keeps the original text, although pares it down a lot. I use it in addition to the original play for my AP students. For my ENG IV Honors students - who read British literature for the year - we just use this text when studying "Macbeth," and they really enjoyed it and understood the story. They are still exposed to the language of Shakespeare, but let's face it, the pictures help a lot.
