Can these be used in a Depends adult diaper or are they just for underwear?

I used them in my Dad's Depends. They helped a lo , because Depends does not absorb as much.

what is the shelf life if I buy it by the case?

We use a case over three months, so I can say they last that long and probably much longer. These are so helpful, we use them flat under bed-bound guy. We layer the glide sheet on the bed, then the absorbent underpad, then the brief (which we leave open), then put this contour bladder pad between him and the brief, and one of these laid on top. These pads catch the urine (and bm too) and contain it, so that it doesn't wander everywhere under and on top of him. Much more comfortable for him, and cleanup is easy. We generally only need to change the brief once a day.
