Maxim & Frankie had acheived a semblence of a resolution in their relationship in 'Submit', but in 'Obey' evil & vengeful & greedy outside influences in Maxim's life & empire are searching for any weakness the terrifyingly frightening Maxim may have. And for the first time in his life, the only time in his adult life, Maxim has one: Frankie.And if it takes shattering Frankie's heart & soul to protect her, is Maxim able to do that?His empire means everything to him, his entire life has been building & growing it, holding on to it with brutal & lethal iciness, doing whatever it took to preserve & keep it. But even Maxim has those to whom he's responsible, who are not happy with how things have been going . . . .Both Maxim & Frankie have been tragically broken (read book #1: SUBMIT) in vastly different but equally tragic ways. Broken to the point that only pain (given & taken) is able to allow them to 'feel' anything, to connect with their counterpart. But neither is able to articulate their feelings, although they've managed to escalate the intensity of their relationship & couplings to the point they are able to skirt at the very far edge of expressing the depth of their need, want & desire for the other.Both Maxim & Frankie are wonderfully complex characters, & initially (in book #1), I wasn't sure I'd like EITHER of them. Maxim is a HARDCORE sadist, in the bedroom & out, OTT dominant, controlling, vicious & glacially cold emotionally. But his Kotyonok has somehow managed to become an addiction, he craves her even as he continually attempts to drive her away, terrify her away or shut her out of his life. But he keeps taking her back because no matter what he does, no matter how Frankie swears to walk away, she returns because she is as addicted to Maxim as he is to her.Their relationship is DARK, it is brutal, it is destructive & yet NOT any of those. Why? Because it is what they both need AND want in order to calm & quiet their thoughts: rage & violence for Maxim, betrayal & exhaustion for Frankie.I truly did love ]this continuation of Maxim & Frankie's story: the broken & the betrayed, the abused & the warped sometimes deserve their peace too, no matter who they find it with or how they consensually work to achieve it.This story SUCKED me further into Maxim & Frankie's tragically beautiful tale, I found my emotions swirled chaotically from teary eyed to hopeful to angry to horrifed & back again. I COULD NOT STOP READING this book (or SUBMIT) until I finished it in one sitting. Yes, to me, it was THAT excellent. And no matter what happened, a mantra of please, please, PLEASE let them have a HEA together never left my mind.So, for the reader who isn't afraid of the dark, or triggers, or brutally beautiful & dysfunctional love stories, I heartily recommend this one. It is one of the best & wonderfully twisted romances I've ever read.

I'm limp from exhaustion. Reading this incredible story took every ounce of emotion out of me, and I don't regret a thing. Sky has ripped these characters open so we may get a look inside madness. How can they co-exist together? These two seen destined to burn out in a hail of gunfire and blood. But Sky has given them there happiness. The only happiness they understand. What a ride. This is the conclusion to a deeply disturbing story that you just can't look away from.

Obey is the second story in the Club XXX series, and it was far more brutal than Submit. While there was more sexual aggression in Submit, Obey demonstrates Maxim’s cruelty in ways that were more painful to Francesca. It was uncomfortable to watch, and it definitely dampened some of the affection I was building towards Maxim in Submit. Francesca is not functioning well throughout most of Obey, and during a large portion of this story I wanted her to see a therapist, stat. Thankfully, her character continues to slowly develop and she begins to voice things her lonely soul needs to say.Despite the darker tone of this story, I have to say this series is one that I can’t put down. Obey ends well, with Maxim and Francesca’s story finally turning back towards the connection they began building in Submit. Definitely excited for the finale. I have a feeling it will continue to get darker before the dawn.

I liked all of it.I don't normally like to read books from just 1 character POV .Although I would have loved to see it from maxim point of view but then I realized that you really didn't need to cause it still sucked you in from the very beginning.....A MUST READ

Obey by Lana Sky Book 2 in Club XXX 3/stars 3.5/spiceI'm not sure why this one did not work for me as well as the first, don't get me wrong I enjoy the dark and the twisted that this has, but it seemed to fall a little flat for me. I did love that he is willing to give her his all, she just has to trust him. Which is a big ask, she basically has to concede to a 24/7 lifestyle, and having all of her family to take care of. The spice in this book is there, no doubt about it BDSM is apparent. Even though it was only a 3/star for me the series has me intrigued and hooked on knowing how it ends. So I will be continuing the series.

Lana Sky is my dark, demented spirit animal.Utterly unable to help myself, I tore through Obey in one sitting like a dehydrated animal thirsting, absolutely parched for just one more page. Obey dives even deeper than Submit into the delicious darkness and pain Maxim gifts to Frankie, while keeping a reader on the edge needing more even when the final word has been read.Lana’s writing is habit-forming, her characters even more so. Obey is one more addicting example of unique writing style.

My goodness, this book has soooo many twists and turns in it. The anticipation of what the characters will do keeps you on the edge of your seat....i reccommend this book to all of my friends...

I love the dark and grittiness of Frankie & Maxim’s relationship! There is so much to be said for losing yourself in and for someone. The rough and jagged love story is refreshing.
