Instructions on Assembly Suck
The umbrella looks great, and the lights are perfect...BUT the assembly instructions were printed so small we had to use a magnifier to see. Also, the instructions were just pictures with tiny labels regarding parts. It would have been SO much easier if there were step by step instructions with larger pictures. When we finally got it assembled, we realized that the "swivel" function does not work. For the price, I expected much better instructions for assembly...we're old and were exhausted by the time we finished!

Easy to use Cantilever Umbrella - The Ultimate Shade Maker
I have destroyed the coming summer sun with this wonderful shade maker. We have a standard umbrella over our table, but needed something to cover my sons play area and sand box. Just say no to evil Sun Burns! We also needed a sturdy cantilever umbrella to do the job since everything is so close to a fence. Due to that pesky sun always moving around we wanted something that can rotate...check....check....check.I can say this umbrella has so far fit the bill with the sturdiness as it has made it through two strong storms and we had not even filled the base weight units (sold separately) with water yet. Once the base was weighted down the umbrella opened very easy and the handle makes it great for rotating or tilting. Don't however expect the same results if you leave it open as it will most likely go flying over.What I really liked about this umbrella are the controls are they are easy to use compared to other products. The color is great and matches my other umbrella pretty close. The LED lights are also a nice feature, however they are not very bright. Basically the LED lights remind me of what you would get when you buy some landscape lights. Either way they provide a soft light at dusk. Can't wait for the several months of great use out of this shade makers!

Nice looking, but your old weighted base may not work.
It arrived well-packaged and went up relatively easily. With the handle-crank combination, operation is a breeze. The pivot pedal is a great feature but it wouldn't accomodate my old water-filled rectangular base, so I had to get a new base.

Sturdy but need to get sand bags for base
They are wonderful except for one issue. You need weight at the bottom to prevent it turning over with winds. Go ahead and get some sand bags

Wow, a lot of bang for your buck. The stand does little to sturdy the umbrella so figure that out before assembling.

Incomplete. Must buy base weight.
You have to buy a base stand to make it work. Will not stand by itself without something to weight down the base.
