iHome Wired Mac Mouse with Scroll Wheel, 3-Buttons, 1600 DPI, Laptops and Computers, Slim and Compact, Right or Left Hand Use, White

I bought this mouse because like so many other Apple product users, I was tired of the Magic Mouse that came with my iMac "magically" needing batteries every other month. Also, there seems to be a defect with the Apple product and the batteries tend to become loose, so I had to shove some foil in the battery terminals to get it to work. I was just done with the hassle. Aesthetically this mouse blends in well with my Mac products. It has worked perfectly since I received it. I like that I can plug it in and use it without having to install software. I read reviews complaining that the cord was too long. I didn't mind the length, but I've kept tied up as it originally came so I can plug it into my laptop instead of my desktop, which is often enough. It is solid construction, and has held up even when I put it in my backpack. Though it feels lighter than an Apple Magic Mouse, I don't mind, but some people might think it feels "cheapy" because of that. It also takes a bit of getting used to since it is a lighter weight. Overall, it is a great value and I'll be buying an extra one just for my laptop.

I LOVE my wired mouse! I bought it earlier in the year when I got tired of recharging my wireless iMac mouse batteries every week. I decided to switch to a wired mouse instead. This iHome Wired Mac Mouse came up on my Amazon.com search. I never heard of this brand before so was bit worried. I’m SOOOOOO glad I took the chance! Out of the box, I simply plugged the USB cable to the back of my pc and it’s been working ever since. (The cable did not work when I used extension cord with USB port.) The wire on my desk was bit annoying in the beginning, but I got used to it. The product works and it was affordable. I’m very happy with my purchase!

I like this mouse. I bought it because the scroll ball on my Apple mouse could only scroll down, not up (when that happens, you can roll it over paper to clean it and that will fix it for awhile, but eventually mine broke completely). This new mouse is a bit loud when clicking and scrolling, but I actually prefer that to a completely silent mouse. My only slight complaint about this mouse is that the scroll ball only rolls up and down, so you can't scroll sideways in documents or on a webpage. You can tell that from the picture but it didn't occur to me how often I actually did that with my Apple mouse and now I can't do it. It's not the end of the world, just wanted to point that out in case someone else didn't think of it too. Otherwise it seems to work well and is nice enough looking. I've only had it for one day so I can't speak to how durable it is yet. Edit: I found a workaround for the sideways scrolling issue - if you hold down the Shift key while rolling the rollerball, you can scroll sideways! This only works if you're on a page or document that has content off the side of the page. I have a Mac and live in the US so this may work differently on other keyboards.

This brand hasn't failed me yet, I use them on all my Apple computers, tired of having to change batteries in the wireless key boards and mouses, I much prefer plug-in than battery and they work great.

Are you tired of your wireless Apple "Magic Mouse" burning through batteries and randomly disconnecting? If so, you might consider this wired mouse. Just plug it into a USB port and it will work immediately. I have not had any trouble with mine at all. And even if it eventually needs to be replaced, it is cheaper than constantly buying new batteries, and less annoying than having to constantly recharge rechargeable batteries. And don't get me started on the annoying random disconnects.... The wire is covered with fabric (my guess is nylon) and it seems to be more flexible than the usual plastic. Apple makes some great products, but its "Magic Mouse" is not one of them.

I was about to give this mouse a 1-star rating. It has a scroll wheel that's ratcheted, which I assumed would allow for fine tuned scrolling or zooming. Well, it wouldn't work. I actually had to just about spin the wheel to get the window to scroll and the amount of movement was random. About a week later, though, it started working, so I can now scroll/zoom by rotating the wheel one ractchet at a time. In some apps I can also scroll right to left, but not in all. I don't know what got it to start working, but I've been using it for a couple of months, now without any problems. It's adequate for the job, and is the closest substitute for the Apple mouse in which its rollerball continues to get gunked up, is a chore to clean, and the rim strip around the base usually breaks when trying to remove it. Apple needs to come up with a better design. Until then, the iHome mouse does get the job done for a low price.

I am so happy I got a wired mouse that is compatible with Mac. Everyone gets so excited about "wireless" technology without thinking about the downsides such as "how do I control my mac if my mouse runs out of batteries or fails to connect." I never have to worry about that now. I have had many wireless mice? over the years and most recently started using the Apple Trackpad again because the last wired mouse I had was to small (I had gotten it as a gift for getting a bank account for my daughter sooooo). I am pretty sure the Trackpad is causing increased pain to my wrist and elbow because I am on the computer all the time and it is just not ergonomically designed for me.

The wired mouse that came with my iMac worked well for a very long time. Cleaning the scroll ball and occasionally replacing the mouse pad was all it needed to keep going with optimum performance. Then things went downhill...the scroll ball began working sporadically at best, controlling the cursor became a challenge, and the mouse ran like a duck pulling a wagon instead of like the speedy little gizmo I remembered. I'm sure it's collected some dirt and dust internally that probably are responsible but the design does not lend itself to being opened for self-maintenance so that was a dead end. I don't care much for wireless mice and the Apple brand can be pricey for a replacement so thought I'd take a chance on the iHome offer I found on Amazon. Was surprised that all I had to do was plug it in right out of the box. It was super reactive and sensitive to the degree that I had to go into preferences and slow the settings down a notch! It's a tad smaller than its predecessor and I thought that might be a distraction but within minutes, I no longer noticed. I could not be more pleased.

This iHome wired mouse works as intended for my iMac desktop. It doesn't have as many slick features as Apple's Magic Mouse but it is a lot less frustrating! My Magic Mouse would frequently exhibit very sluggish tracking response and the cursor on the screen would sometimes completely disappear. I had enough of it and decided to go back a decade in technology to get an "old-school" wired mouse that works reliably and you don't have to worry about recharging it when you're in the middle of an assignment. I've been using the iHome Wired Mac Mouse for a few weeks now and am very pleased with it so far.

Works alright, I just wish the scroll wheel was smoother. Right clicking works perfect on Mac. I find it a lot more comfortable to use than Apple mice but I guess it depends on your preference.

I really liked this got it to play wow. It did it's job. I think it came quick.

feels like an old mouse a few years ago very "clicky". My software requires a scroll feature so i'm using this mouse on a older imac.
