1,000 Places to See Before You Die Traveler's Journal

Claudia, my friend and co-worker for the last 23 years, retired today. I know she will be working one day a week, but her presence will be definitely missed. She has always been my steady shipmate in a sometimes wicked sea.As she embarks on this journey called "the rest of your life" I know she is planning to do some travelling, so I purchased this blank journal for her. But I did not leave it blank. For the past several weeks I have given to all our current co-workers and many previous ones. All wanted to recall special memories and wish her the best. That is the type of person she is. Quiet (I thought her mother's name was "Mrs Mertz" instead of "Mrs Metz" and neither one ever corrected me.), thoughtful (She quit using a certain type of cough drop every day after I commented on her stinky perfume.), dedicated to God, her family and her work that on a standard we should all strive to emulate.I am blessed to have had such a wonderful co-worker for so long.I am blessed to have had such a wonderful friend for so long.Vaya con Dios!

This is a great way to keep a log of where one has been and what one say there. I have filled one, but saw it destroyed, so I'm having to write it all again. It's taking a LONG time to remember everything. But it's all worth it, just to be able to recall everything.

This book is cute but not what i thought it was, i thought the front was a removable slip but it isnt and is not very appealing. I would prefer the map design. Oh well. I will give this as a gift instead of using it for my travels.

Bought this for a friend who travels a lot for a Birthday present. He really liked the calendar with the same title and now this book and the Journal with the same title.

Guess I didnt read properly what it was about! It isnt a book about places recommended to go at all. It is a blank book for you to write in yourself. There is a list at the back of places to go, but it is purely a list, no info about them at all.

This lists the places and provides you with a journal to record your experiences while exploring the world. Its smaller size makes it handy to carry with you on your travels.

Not to be confused with the large book of the same name,  1,000 Places to See Before You Die, updated ed. (2010) (1,000 Before You Die) , this is a smaller stiff-cover paperback book that is designed to be used as a travel diary or journal of your personal experiences visiting places far and near!The book is divided into 3 maim sections; about 100 blank, lined pages for recording the dates and places visited (plenty of space to write whatever you want about the scenery, food, sights, sounds, etc.), a small reference guide that has international dialing codes, time zone information, a few short phrases in multiple languages, and some metric conversion charts for temperature, weight etc., as well as clothing size equivalents, and a checklist of all the 1000 places mentioned in the larger book that can be marked off as you visit them. There's even room to add a few of your own at the bottom of each page if you wanted! I know I added in Cabo San Lucas to mine. You don't need to have the other book to use this one for its intended purpose. Interspersed in the blank pages are quotes and other interesting tidbits to read or to spark your own journalistic musings.It's a great little item to take with you in a bag, backpack, or purse while traveling. If you wanted you could put post cards in the book as markers or use the attached red ribbon to hold your spot. There is a little folder in the front cover of the book that you can use for receipts or other small bits of paper but it's not very large nor is it expandable. If you like, you can glue another colored envelope on the back cover and make an additional place to tuck small items.The travel journal makes a nice gift for anyone who likes to travel and who wants to record impressions of places visited. As a previous reviewer remarked, this item would be even better if it was spiral bound AND if it had a little band that held it closed. Other than those two small issues, I recommend the journal!

I would like to visit all these places. Great info on locations and attractions. I bought the 1000 places board game as well.

I've really enjoyed the 1000 places... merchandise and I knew I had to buy this. To be honest, though, I was a bit iffy about the cover - I thought that the white column was part of the cover - but I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived and I realised that it was just a removable sleeve. There is a small logo that does say '1000 places...' but it's nothing over the top.I also really like that every few pages or so, there's a list of places to see and things to do. Also, at the back of the book, there is a nice checklist for ticking off places you've been, and some good conversion rates.All in all, I would recommend this for anyone looking for a travel journal.

Schon einmal war ich für ein Jahr im Ausland und nichts finde ich schöner, als die Reise und die Erfahrungen und das ganze Abenteuer in einem Tagebuch festzuhalten. Da ich mir aber kein normales Tagebuch kaufen wollte, habe ich ein bisschen in amazon herumegstöbert und mit dann an diesem Exemplar hängengeblieben.Der Inhalt überzeugt durch normaler linierte Seiten, wo man am Anfang einträgtk an welchem Ort man gerade ist, sowie das Datum. Man hat viel Platz zum schreiben, sodass man sich nicht immer kurz fassen muss.Ein superschönes Reisetagebuch, nun freue ich mich auf meine zweite große Reise und hoffe auch schön fleißig das Buch zu führen.Versand verlief übrigens einwandfrei.

Really nice book with lots of interesting facts in. A lot of space to write own memos as well as a tick lost of all the different places to visit in the back. I bought it for a friend who loves travelling for her birthday and she loved it. I would highly recommend it.

... leider wird offensichtlich das Travel Journal nicht mit dem "Hauptwerk" koordiniert aktualisiert. So fehlen im Travel Journal einige Reiseziele, die in der aktuellen Auflage von "1,000 Places... " neu aufgenommen wurden (und umgekehrt?).

This was a gift so I am unsure if it met their expectations, It looked ok to me but not sure if they use it and like it.
