Be aware that if one is studying or reviewing Latin on one's own, Wheelock's workbook, although excellent, does NOT contain an answer key to the exercises.

A must have if you’re learning with Wheelock’s Latin. Indispensable for practice the learned lessons.

I had decided to study Latin after stumbling over various words and phrases unfamiliar to me in reading, and being a big etymology buff didn't hinder that decision in the least. My previous review was meant for the seller, but ended up posting under the product profile. So, my apologies for the confusion.Wheelock's Latin is the most studied course of Latin. There are a plethora of resources online for those following this course. Now, as I'm studying from home at my own pace, I can only give references or recommendations accordingly. Wheelock's Latin is laid out in such a way that I've not had any major stumbling blocks. I can go over & over a chapter until I feel I've absorbed it. It lays everything out very simply, and gives excellent examples. If you happen to purchase a copy without a disc (as I did), never fear. Wheelock has a website that provides the correct pronunciation of the various vocabulary as well as the vowel & consonant pronunciations.With that said, I can only say that I'd highly recommend Wheelock's Latin. Now, for the companion workbook. It basically provides a comprehensive "test" of the material drawn from Wheelock's Latin textbook by chapter. It will definitely help one to recall and retain information learned pertaining not only to Latin, but in the English language as well (which the textbook gives wonderful examples of how Latin correlates to modern English as well as some other languages.)If want to learn Latin, but wondering if you can do it outside a classroom: the answer is yes. With Wheelock's, I firmly believe one can. This workbook is an indispensable tool in that process. As I've said before, Wheelock's Latin is the most used text in studying Latin, and there is an abundant supply of study aids that accompany Wheelock's.Salve!

I am teaching a young teen Latin using Wheelock's textbook. We do all the exercises in the textbook and then do all the exercises in the corresponding chapter in the workbook. I love the workbook. The exercises are well thought-out and useful for cementing the understanding of Latin grammar. My student likes the workbook too. Often the workbook will bring up points that aren't really dealt with too much in the textbook exercises. So the workbook complements the textbook well. Thank you for this great workbook!

Read the Editor's Note and believe every word; it is all good, and it is all true. I'd rather tell you about how practical this workbook has been for me as a private Latin tutor.Working closely with a middle school student who wants to get ahead of the class, we concentrate on "Wheelock's Latin" as much as possible. While The Book itself provides excellent exercises, I am blessed to work with a gifted young lady who is always looking for more ways to fine-tune her introductory study of Latin. We all know how time consuming it is to build your own pertinent, quality exercises for a diverse group of learners. When it comes to Wheelock, why squander your labors in lingua latina when this ideal workbook by Professors Comeau (Magister Tamquam Aquam, QC?) and Magister Illa Flore is so readily available?This workbook has been a priceless enhancement of the chosen intellegenda and much needed grammatica et exercit'ti'nes. Eugepae, magistri et magistrae, save your prep time and enjoy!

This was purchased as a companion piece to Wheelock's Latin. It is thorough and easy to use. My only issue with it is that it doesn't include a key, so unless you have a professor who is taking you on a Latin journey, you won't know where you've gone astray.

This workbook provides many exercises and questions to practice the material presented in each of the chapters of Wheelock's Latin. I found them interesting to do and a great help in drilling the material into my thick skull. I particularly like the exercises translating Latin into English and vice versa. As a note, you will need to follow the information provided in the beginning of the book to obtain access to the answer key to check your work. I found it easy to do (can do via e-mail) and obtained access within one day. This workbook supplements the exercises for each chapter in the textbook itself. I would highly recommend this to anyone using Wheelock's Latin.

The classic text for learning Latin. I had studied Latin in college. My sister press ganged me into service to prevent my nephew from failing Latin. He would have been kicked off his school's football team if he failed a subject (Imagine what the college football rankings would would be if the NCAA instituted that rule) I picked up the Wheelock textbook and work book and was up to speed in no time. I highly recommend this book to anyone who either wants to brush up on or learn Latin from scratch.Ipsa scientia potesta est.
