Bad build quality but it does what it says.
On the 335i the door panel aims the lights slightly into the door and will cut off 25% of the picture. To fix this I had to make a shim that would re aim the lights. You could do this with scissors and some plastic packaging or even cardboard. But I designed a part and used a 3d printer to make. (It took me all of like 10 minutes to desighn and print the thing so shh) one day I will upload the file to thingiverse for free download for people who have this problem and a printer.I noticed that some people complained that the light went out quickly. And made high pitch noises. As an electrical engineer and all too familiar with cheap led lights I had a good idea what's going on and here's what I did before useing it.The led is as far as I can tell a cree led but the matalan case the led sits In meant to disperse the heat does not have a smooth bottom makeing tir terrable heat transfer that can harm the LED. To fix this I put a healthy blob of of thermal compound under the led to bridge the gap. If you do not have thermal compound or a thermal pad you can use stuff like baby diper rash cream. Its loaded full of zink oxide and dosent completely dry out to my understanding and will make for an ok substitute. I strongly suggest doing this alteration if you plan on leaving the light on for several minutes or more at a time.Driveing the LED is a constant current buck converter. It uses a tinny transformer switched at high frequencies to conver 12V into something like 3.5V to power the LED. That transformer, Morse spesificly the windings on it vibrating is where that noise can come from. When I had the light appart I dropped a few drops of a lacquer on it so that the windings would be glued in place. You can use a thin glue or even clear nail polish to do the same thing.I also added a capacitor to the output feeding the LED I'm not sure if there was ever a problem with this but high frequency switching can cause a weird strobing effect on video cameras if you were ever to film the lights. The capacitor will solve the problem if it was even a problem in the first place. Basically I never wanted to have to re-order or work on these things ever again.Oh, picture looks clean and you can rotate the lenses to rotate the picture so its straight up and down with the car with the doors open. I wish they were a little brighter but they look good in the dark

These are pretty cool!
I've only had them installed on my 2015 F01 (7-series xdrive) for about a week so can't speak to the durability. So far the lights are very clear, sharp and bright. Installation was very easy. I think one other reviewer noted the same thing; these units are just a hair bigger than my OEM part. I had to force them in with a slightly harder push than I'm comfortable with. My concern is if I had to wedge them in that hard, how are they going to come out? Hopefully I will never have to find out if they last long term. Being a car guy I will fully admit to going into the garage at night to open the door JUST to see that BMW logo shinning on the floor, if you are a car guy you understand. Overall I rated them a 5 and my only question (unfounded) is how long will they last, but they are soooo cool, you will like them!

Awesome product
Wow what an epic upgrade to my car for 8 dollars. I know nothing about how to take apart/install things on a car and this took me 5 minutes. Highly recommend. Bright, clear, quality product. (Btw this will fit any bmw with courtesy door lights)

Doesn't quite fit
Didn't quite fit in either of my BMWs. Off by about 2 millimeters. After an hour of trying to figure it out, I finally sanded the actual car and the plastic piece to make it fit. Now, it's cool, but I would've preferred to not alter my actual car.

Poor quality
Installed this on an Audi Q5. Very simple, but you may need to use a file as it is a tighter fit than OEM. The light is about 50% of the similar light accessory offered by Audi, but it's sufficient for night operation and the low price (Audi charges $250 for these lights as a manufacturer option). The big issue with this brand is that the lights do not align properly with the door. When installed, two of the four lamps projected an image that was 60 degrees off (not upside down which would be 180 degrees off). You can see an example via another reviewer with a BMW logo (note how the images are different with the front door vs back door). I was able to address it by taking a small flat blade screwdriver and slowly rotating the projection unit contained within the aluminum casing of the light. However, I noted that the projection unit in one of the lamps was so loose that it rotates freely and continues to move with car vibration. It will need to be replaced. No warranty was included in the packaging so you buy at your own risk or pick another brand.

Fits the 2016 BMW E89 Z4
I bought some other ones from AMZ but they didn't work on the 2016 Z4. After trying to install them I noticed the connector was wide enough for a four prong connector even though the door wire is only two. Even then, the connector wouldn't lock in place or stay connected. I scrolled through description after description of other listed shadow lights but none listed the 2016 E89 Z4.However, this picture looked like a two prong connector and the correct width. I got them and they connected instantly. Only problem was, they are ever so slightly larger than the hole in the car door. A simple trim of the lights lens with a razor knife allowed it to snap into place. I don't recommend trimming the door panel although the thought crossed my mind. I figure if they break or don't last and I have to get different ones or go back to the OEM lights, I didn't want them too loose. Also, I didn't need the extra wire extender, I could have but didn't use them. The connector on the car door was very short but I was able to get them connected. Make sure you use a needle nose pliers and get the connectors to seat all the way and lock. I've read on other reviews that the connectors come loose. This hasn't happened to me but I doubt they will with the way they snapped in. I guess using the extenders would have made this easier but they are in and working.I'll update this over time if they start to fade, burn out, fail or otherwise make me sigh. My wife says I am such a geek.
