The Miniature Pinscher: Reigning King of Toys

The book itself if written very well, the pictures are mostly in black and white with a 1950's feel to it. There are more modern books on min pins like "the Miniature pinscher" by bobbye land which is a much better investment.

Of the several Min Pin books I bought, this is my favorite, it's large, it's packed with color photos and information, and is well done. This really is a top notch book. Out doing all the others. I wished I'd had started with this one. First class book on Min Pins, you'll really be glad you bought one.

I've had minpins for over 25 years and like this book because it is comprehensive and thorough about the breed. Every once and awhile, I buy a book that has been updated and this book didn't disappoint me at all. I highly recommend this book for anyone thinking of buying a minpin or anyone who owns a minpin and want to catch up on the breed. A++.

I have read this book twice, and refer to it as needed. It certainly outlined the characteristics of the breed and all have proven to be true. If there is a downside to this book it is all the information about showing, since my Min Pin is a pet. But then even that provided some good information.I liked the book and would buy it again.

Good, but not as detailed as I would like. Lovely, very thorough in general terms, but not as detailed about behavior and how minpins need to be treated. They are unusual, smart dogs and I was hoping for more information about how to handle them.

The worst DVD I've ever bought! Save your money. The dog training part of the video doesn't even have miniature pinschers in it. This video is crap and shouldn't even be allowed to be sold! If I was able to rate this DVD without giving it any STARS, I would! THIS DVD IS SO BAD THAT GIVING IT A 1 STAR rating IS BEING OVERLY NICE...with that being said.....again... don't waste your money!

This is definitely not a cut and paste dog book. Most everything you could wish to know is included in this book...the history of the dog, it's personality traits, gait diagrams, obstacle track training (!), and famous past show dogs. Plenty of references for further reading, pictures, and some weblinks. The most impressive thing for me was the pain the author goes through to make sure you know what you're getting into purchasing a Min Pin. The breed is high maintenance and very high strung. A cherished pet, but comparable to a toddler who never grows up. It is an important fact. My Min Pin is a rescue from a family that merely felt the breed was 'cute.' This is an excellent book for those who already own, but should be required for those considering a first-time Min Pin.
