Activa PermaStone Casting Compound, 48-oz (1.36kg) | Strong & Durable, Reproduces Fine Details, Dries White

Last purchased permastone two decades ago. It worked well, it got used up, and my hobbies have circled around to using this again. Works just like plaster and really is several times stronger, when mixed and poured properly captures fine detail, and takes every colorant/paint/dye/ink/spray/marker I've tried. Only complaint is the soft bag is easily punctured it is best to store the whole bag in another seal-able container, such as a repurposed icecream bucket.

This stuff is really good for casting. Its a bit pricey for me as im making wholesale casts, but it's awesome for crafting. Good quality... but follow directions closely.

This works great! I was trying to find a Jesmonite alternative, and this works well. Mixes with water to form a pancake batter consistency (no need to measure parts) and cures pretty quickly. I demold after about 2hr. Cures to a nice very light beige and is pretty easy to pigment. I’ve used acrylic paint and gotten nice pastel colors. Mica powder was pretty faint. I recommend this!

I wanted to try resin but I am too concerned about it being finicky and especially expensive. This was a low cost way to experiment with casting into a mold. The hardness of material is amazing. Simple, pretty well fool-proof material to work with.

The way it was shipped powder was all over the box and there was a hole in the bag. The product itself worked fine but was very irritated with the messy shipping

i bought this to try because it was available in a smaller quantity rather than a huge box of dental stone. Wow, Im impressed; it seems to be every bit as good in strength! HOWEVER, they need to improve their packaging! The plastic bag it came looked like it had been through a war! It arrived inside a plastic Amazon shipping bag and had exploded all the over. Fortunately the other items shipped with it were not ruined as a result. Also, the directions which are a simple water to plaster ratio were printed on a full sheet of paper in multiple languages, buried deep inside the plaster. That made another mess when fishing them out. Better to have them printed on the package itself.

I used this to recreate a 100+ year old architectural fragment of a Skull and Bones crest. Looks and feels great! Note: I like to add a pinch of marble powder as well, I feel that adds to the look. A+

Love this product. I used the entire bag within a couple of days. I made six oval trinket dishes, and one ring/bracelet holder. I wish it came in larger quantities. Five stars.
