Five Stinky Socks Board book – January 6, 2015

I'm the art specialist in a K-6 school. The kids at all levels have LOVED this one. I have limited time and a short (SHORT!) funny book is a great way to motivate clean up and bring everyone together for some closure at the end of our 40 minutes. This fills the bill. Of course, this is targetted at the young, young set, so a great reading style with good voices helps, particularly with the older kids. The slightly naughty edge (EWWWW! One of his socks smells like a skunk? One of his socks smells like a poopy diaper? ----shocking talk to be sure!) definitey pulls the kids in.

Bought this as a gift for my niece and she LOVES it! So much so that she is always drooling and slobbering on it and tries to it. But she also giggles hysterically at the story, the whimsical pictures, and all of the funny words.PS - the value of this book increases tremendously if the reader of it can do voices. If you read it with the voices, it's hands down one of my nieces favorite books. Just note - voices not included :)

My son loves this book, even though I think it is a bit yucky. We love how the pictures tie in to the author's other books (i.e., Robot Kitties, Piggy Paints). We would really like to know why the 5th stock is stinky, though.

We borrowed this book from the library and loved it!! So we bought the kindle edition for our upcoming plane ride home. However the kindle format is small because they put four pages per screen unless you rotate your iPad. But even then, it's still smaller than many other kindle books. I recommend this book, just not the kindle version. Also I recommend downloading a sample of any kindle books first to check for such issues.

This is hilarious and adorable! Can't wait to share with my grandkids. Everything I've read from this author is wonderful in all the age groups. You will find yourself laughing right along with the kids!

Five Stinky Socks, as a counting primer, entertains my toddler to no end. The cadence is good, the illustrations are good, and there's no internal moan when the kid asks for it to be read. I signed it out from the library, and the reaction was enough to convince me to buy it. This (or any other Jim Benton book that I've tried) has worked like a charm.

Bought this because we found a used copy of Piggy Paints last year and my daughter loves it. Decided to buy another book from the author.

Bought this for my 2 year old niece and it's now one of her favourite books!.. She loves counting along and saying pee yew!

This is a nice short, funny read that is perfect for the toddler in your life. Honestly, I like it as much as my kid does. It's got a great rhyme to it, helps teach counting, and is funny to boot. Highly recommended!
