Description This Azurite is a very recent find from Australia. Only a few were available at Tucson in 2011. The azurite crystals grow between layers of kaolin clay and thus grows out laterally and are compressed by the clay; often forming a "sun" or star shape. They are found in a place so inhospitable, that it can only be worked for about 3 month during the winter when it is cool enough. These are extremely rare, and there is no way to know when they will not longer be found.
