Product description This is PLA 2 3d Printing Filament! The FilaCube Research & Development Department perfected unique, proprietary plastic 3D filament formulas in order to provide a consistent, reliable and hassle-free 3 D printing experience for all 3D printer and pen users. After FilaCube PLA and PLA Plus (PLA+, PLA pro) filaments, this is our second generation PLA filament with smooth finish surface, strong layer adhesion (bonding/binding), low shrinkage, low-to-no warping and less brittleness. FilaCube PLA 2 Main Features Consistent Diameter A high-speed laser micrometer is used to monitor the diameter variance of all our newly extruded filament in real time during production. With a measurement accuracy of 0.002mm, we can achieve a diameter tolerance of 0.03mm on our 1.75mm and 2.85mm filament. The dimensional consistency of our filament prevents clogs by inconsistent filament diameter and improves print quality by extruding the right amount of filament while printing. Anti-clog During our filament manufacturing process, the melted raw materials are filtered by two 100x100 stainless steel meshes. The aperture of the mesh is about 0.15mm, which prevent larger particles from going into the final filament products. Considering the 0.4mm or 0.35mm extruding nozzle is commonly used by 3D FFF printers, FilaCube filaments can reduce the chance of clogging your 3D printer nozzle significantly. PLA 2 Prints are tough! This picture shows a durability testing with a print. It was expected that the print would be completely crushed. After being run over repeatedly by a car of 3800 lbs, it's just got some of the sharp corners mushed and that's it. The model was printed in FilaCube PLA 2 filament, 10% infill, 2 walls, 0.2mm layer, 0.6 mm nozzle. FilaCube PLA 2 3D Filament Cheat Sheet You might notice that FilaCube PLA 2 filament is softer and more flexible than other brands. FilaCube PLA 2 filament is unique as it is engineered to achieve the best printing results. This also means that you might need to tune your printer settings first! Please read this Cheat Sheet first before you print with FilaCube PLA 2 filament for the first time or when you are experiencing issues like not sticking, stringing. Print Bed A clean and leveled bed is essential for a successful print. Use rubbing alcohol to clean the print bed for each print. Sometimes a mixture of PVA glue and water on a smooth print surface helps bed adhesion for multiple parts with a small surface area (especially where it meets the bed). Please note that most beds are not perfectly flat as they are warped or bent more or less. Beds that are heated unevenly underneath will worsen the issue. Blue tape, hairspray, a glue stick or a mixture of PVA glue and water can compensate for the leveling flaws. Please note that hairspray is flammable. Bed Temperature FilaCube PLA 2 doesn't need a heated bed. If a heated bed is used, bed temp should be lower than 50°C. High temp might cause binding and warping issues. Some advanced users find that 60°C for the first layer, then reducing to 50°C results in good adhesion without warping/pulling up. Nozzle Temperature Recommended temp is 210°C or 215°C. If you have a nozzle jamming issue, please raise nozzle temp. Every printer and every filament brand is different! To get best print results, please calibrate your extruder/nozzle temperatures. You can download a temperature calibration tower off thingiverse, set the temperature range from 190°C to 230°C in steps of 5°C, and print the calibration tower and choose the best temperature for your printer. Retraction Settings Retraction needs to be enabled for FilaCube PLA 2! Start with a retraction distance of 5mm and a speed of 25mm/s and tune it for your printer. In Cura, the retraction speed should be 25mm/s or lower. Wipe might also need to be enabled. If you are experiencing stringing, blobs, zits, etc., tune retraction, coasting, and wipe settings. First Layer Binding/Sticking A successful first layer is critical to a successful 3D print. Your first layer should stick to the bed every time. To achieve a successful first layer, cooling fan should be 30% or lower, print speed 35-50% of normal speed, and layer height 90% of normal layer height (to ensure that the melted filament has enough time to bind to the bed). Please observe the print of the first layer. If binding is observed to be poor in some areas, check that the areas are clean and that the bed is leveled. One or two coats of hairspray or a mixture of PVA glue and water is highly recommended if you are having a first layer binding issue. Cooling Fan From the second layer, 100% of cooling fan should be used. Revitalize & Store The performance of PLA 2 filament should not be affected for several months after the vacuum package is open. For better printing quality, we recommend storing your filament in a vacuum sealed bag with desiccant. If you are having bubbling, stringing etc. issues, the reason might be that the filament is damp. You can revitalize/dehydrate it in an oven at 60°C - 80°C (140 ° F - 176°F) for about one or two hours. How to Prevent Filament Crossing/Tangling? All FilaCube filaments are wounded by machines. Machines will not create crossing/tangling issues. When a new spool is opened, the free end of the filament is secured on the spool. Filament crossing/tangling occurs when the free end is not properly secured or uncoiled filament spills over the edge of the flange. 3D printer users should always secure the loose end of the filament to prevent filament crossing/tangling. Supported 3D Printer Brands PLA2 filaments can work with FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling)/FFF(Fused filament fabrication) printers. Review: Great color match and prints reliably - A great color match. This is a good quality filament. I am able to print reliably which is important as I run my printers 24/7. Easy to use as you can likely use the default settings on your printer for PLA. I did on my Bambu P2S. Have not yet run it on any other printers. A great color match. This is a good quality filament. I am able to print reliably which is important as I run my printers 24/7. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Temperature is critical. Use a calibration tower.

YOUR FIRST PRINT WITH THIS FILAMENT MUST BE A TEMPERATURE CALIBRATION TOWER! This will save you much frustration. Search prusaprinters.org for "small quick temperature tower" to find one that consumes only 4 grams of filament. For a Prusa MK3S, the filament jams the extruder at 210° (standard PLA temperature) with loud clicking noises. It prints well using 225° for the first layer and 220° for remaining layers. Read the cheat sheet in the product description. It matters. Use the filament override settings in your slicer to set retraction speed to 25 mm/s, and the heat bed settings recommended in the cheat sheet (60° first layer, 50° for the rest) has worked well (so far) for my powder-coated steel sheet. When the print is done, the part loosens itself completely from the build plate as it cools. Self-adhesion seems to be excellent compared to other PLA, although build plate adhesion is noticeably weaker, but still seems good enough. I printed a large part and it had no visible warping to ruin the adhesion, so that helps. The color is a somewhat translucent white. The first layer actually looks transparent on the build plate. For printing lithophanes, I recommend printing thicker than usual to get decent contrast, due to the translucency of this filament. The finish has a nice even sheen to it.
