I'm Continuously Impressed by LoraTap's Improvement
Positive: Good company, great feature set, reliable functionality, CompactNegative: Insufficient for US power socket, documentation could be clearerI've ordered LoraTap devices before and I liked them well enough historically when they could only used with local remotes that I was excited to try out the new app and functionality. I regularly use IFTTT for home automation as it is one of the most effective tools I've found and so this update to their remote power switch is a significant improvement over the original. My initial thought was to finally put this inside of a power outlet as a smart control for a couple of lamps in my living room. However, the power outlets in my home have 2 sets of wires and would, therefore, have not been ideal for this device as I could only have controlled half of the outlet or needed 2 devices for the whole outlet. While one device would have fit snuggly into the socket I think 2 would have been a very tight fit.I can't blame LoraTap for this, however, as my power outlets are not universal and because the power switch was clearly labeled on the product page as having a single pair of wires for switching power for. IF you have a power outlet that only needs one pair of cables, it would be an excellent use for this device. My general goal with devices is to avoid having multiple switches in series (a physical then a digital) because one can interfere with the function of the other so power outlets or appliances I think are preferred over light switches. What I did after abandoning the wall outlet was replace the previous LoraTap I've been using in my bedside lamp. IT's a great device because it's small enough to fit comfortably inside of the lamp while improving the functionality to allow me to automate the use of the lamp. The product has worked reliably and given that it can be used with IFTTT it has tremendous flexibility for home engineers who like to tinker and to create new tools.I honestly cannot wait to see future products from this company for improved home automation.

Great and low profile!
I'm using this for a ceiling-mounted light fixture. It's controlled through my Google Home app with several other switches in the room. It's responsive every time and I haven't had a single issue in the last 5 months. Setting it up is pretty easy if you've ever added a WiFi-enabled device to a network. It's probably the easiest smart switch I've ever installed and set up without a single issue.

It seems to be very reliable and simple to operate.
It works fine. I have it running my pool pump. I replace my pool timer with it. It is important for it to be able to run even if not connected to the phone app. I still have the traditional freeze detection contactor independent of this.

A great little device that makes a regular device into a smart device
Recently a photocell sensor light switch for an external light post for my house started to fail. The failure mode of the photocell switch was to leave the lamp on all the time. There was no way to manually shut off the lamp without shutting off other outlets using the same circuit. So I decided to turn this into a smart switch and replace the photocell switch with this switch. The main advantage was the Smart Life app that supports Sunset and Sunrise on/off for the switch to automate what the photocell did. I can now also manually switch on/off and check status with my Alexa devices. This is so handy. And saves energy as well. The device is small and fits easily in the junction box for the photocell switch. Wifi signal was really strong as well.

Disappointed đâšī¸
I used the devise to integrate Bluetooth capability in an overhead AC unit in my motorhome. The set up was very frustrating and took me over 2 hours for me to pair up. I purchased this product because it allows for a hardware install. I paired it with an Echo Dot and once Alexa finally found the signal and I had successfully achieved turning my AC unit into a smart unit that is discovered not only by Alexa but a wireless digital wall thermostat that works as a hub and tells Alexa when to turn on and off periodically to control the temperature in the rooms. Or I can always bypass the thermostat simply by asking Alexa to do it remotely while on my drive home. However, prior to the install of the thermostat I attempted to program a routine in the Alexa App and lost all connectivity which is what prompted the purchase of the thermostat. Even after resetting the unit and removing the App and downloading it again, Alexa's new "routine" is to ignore what I'm asking her to do now. I replaced it with a different device that pairs up automatically at the point of purchase if bought thru Amazon in the event of loosing connectivity again.

Great Wi-Fi controls switch
This is a great little switch that can be used to control different things. I have it controlling the control power to an industrial control relay that is used to supply power to a 220V single phase machine. As long as you use this as a master that drives a slave device, such as another control relay, this little things is downright AWESOME! I've read some of the other reviews and it sounds like a secondary relay would probably help achieve success. To do so, have the Lora Tap switch turning on and off the control power to a relay that controls power to a solenoid or motor starter.I did have to use the AP mode to setup the switch, but one I got it setup, Alexa now controls it! This little thing is great! You are limited only by your imagination as to what you can do with it!

Relay switch will not work with other voltages
The wiring schematic on this device makes it look like you can pass power through the auxiliary terminal.I powered my loratap with 120v. Then I ran dry contacts from the other side of the switch to my fireplace gas valve thinking it would turn my gas valve on and off over WiFi. Well no. It doesn't just open and close contacts like a normal relay. It passes 120v through so it blew my breaker every time it was energized. This could be done with 3 terminal points on the relay. Not sure why they use 4 to pass the line and neutral other than to confuse people
