A good mix of walking tours
Wow! I spent time looking at other travel guides on Istanbul, but I gotta say LP got it right with this. A good mix of walking tours, where to eat, drink and party, when to go where and how--see fold out map with transportation map. It's only 255 pages. There are only eight pages on lodging, which is how a tour book should be. I find lodging information to be useless, unless you're spontaneous. The layout is easy to follow and efficient. The book breaks down by the popular districts, their layouts and gives you the best of those areas. Completely worth it.

Tours and Hotel Choices
Will travel in May, and wanted to decide where to stay (Sultanahmet) and tours to book ( I use Viator). The book was awesome, and even had restaurants near the hotel I picked.

Helpful.
A fairly complete guide to the city. It does not, however, mention Miniaturk - a site of great architectural interest composed of miniature models of Turkish buildings, or Santallistanbul, both an energy museum on the site of an electrical generation building and a contemporary art museum. (I believe this was created on the model of Rome's Centrale Montimartini.) These are located on the north shore of the upper Golden Horn. It may be a limited interest, but I am a vegan and appreciate any indication of vegan/vegetarian eating locations in places I visit.
