I'm so impressed by how well this case is made. Every detail is well thought out and attractive. It's holding up well, too after a month. Even a slight scratch just makes the real leather look better. (I had bought a cheaper case awhile back that started to unravel and come apart after only a few days!)There is just one slight thing you should know. There is a link to a video in the questions that shows you have to crease where the case rests on a surface for your iPad to stand up sturdily. No big deal, but you have to know or your iPad won't stand up!So worth the money. I feel that I will be able to use this for years!

This is almost a perfect case for the iPad Mini 5. Buttons are tactile, the leather is very smooth (smells nice and leathery!) and it is so easy to take the iPad in and out. It is very low profile so it keeps it thin and light while still protecting the iPad. My only negative of this case is the side bezels are too flush with the screen that gestures from the left or right sides do not register most of the time (slide in gestures from the left or side. My workaround is to pull the leather away from the screen to do those gestures. Other than that, it is almost a perfect case. For the price of this case, you cannot go wrong. Recommended, especially if you don’t use gestures as much.

This is one of the only leather covers I was able to find, and the quality of the materials is top notch. The fit and finish is great. The problem I have, and the only thing that keeps me from a 5-star review, is the built-in stand function.On the back of the case is a tab that fits flush against the case, and I assume is used to hold the front cover in place, allowing one to watch or use the tablet in landscape mode. At least, I think that was the intended use. Apparently no one took the time to see whether the placement of the tab was correctly positioned so the tablet was properly balanced. It needs to be a bit lower. I work around this by using the notch as the cover holder, as shown in the picture.All told, quality materials and craftsmanship, let down by a poor design choice.

I love the look and feel of real leather. My only disappointment is one end doesn't close as secure as the other end. I'm hoping that usage will take care of that after the leather becomes more relaxed. I do wish there was a back up closure besides having to depend on the magnetics since I carry my iPad in my purse in place of a phone. The case is beautiful and I know it will outlast my iPad...you just can't beat real genuine leather.

I bought two Kavaj leather case for my iPads. I also bought one more for my mom's iPad, she saw mine and she loved it. It was perfect, perfect design, perfect coverage, the leather was soft and feels good to the touch. No other companies provided leather case for iPad like the way Kavaj's case is.Unfortunately I don't feel the same when it comes to iPad mini 5th gen. While it is still the most lightweight and perfect coverage, it just look too bulky on the inside. My family told me it is still the classiest and best looking from the outside, and the fact it is mini version of my bigger iPads, it looks cute.So if you can live with the "feeling" like it is stuffy on the screen-side, then this case is perfect, it doesn't collect dust either! I never had to clean the leather, only the screen from fingerprints, not dusts. It had perfect protection, I dropped my iPad every now and then, no problem. Most importantly, it is very very lightweight.

I love this for my iPad 4. I have had an earlier version where the sensor cutouts only fit the iPad 4. It has held up well and is still a beautiful quality product. The new version has the small circular cutouts in four places so it is still compatible with the iPad 4. We purchased another case for my son's new iPad 5, however the volume controls on the 5 are actually about 1/2 cm higher than on the 4. The outlines for the volume controls don't match the iPad 5. To hit the volume up, you have to press above the volume up plus sign. To hit the volume down, you have to hit the line between the volume plus and volume minus signs. Maybe a longer cutout that would accommodate the volume buttons for both the iPad 4 and 5 would be a better way to make this case fit both versions.

As always another beautifully made case from Kavaj. I have owned one for every version of the iPad Mini since it's inception and they have all stood up well and looked great as long as I had them. They fit perfectly and all the buttons work as they should. It even has that nice "new car" leather smell. Closing the case automatically puts the device in sleep mode, and opening it wakes it up. The only thing that has changed from the mini 4 to the mini 5 is the location of the microphones. If you don't use the mic your case for the 4 will be ok for the 5, otherwise you will have to get the new one. Highly recommended.

I like that, unlike many that claim to be leather , it’s actually leather. It’s well made. I think it will last a long time.

Had one of these for my mini 2 for many years now and the quality of the leather is exceptional, the leather softens wonderfully with age and doesn’t look tired or worn out in any wayHaving upgraded to a mini 5 I had to buy a new case as the iPad is slightly larger. The quality of the leather is just as superb and the fit is perfect. Only downside is having to constantly fold down the edge to get the stand to function correctly, I hope it will soften once again with age and function better. Maybe it would benefit from a redesign in future cases as even when folded correctly it still has a tendency to tip over.The black foam that’s in the case when new had started degrading and left sticky residue inside the suede lining, rubbing alcohol removed the stickiness but the dark mark remained. Doesn’t effect the use of the case but slightly disappointing considering the price of the case.Even considering the negatives I wouldn’t hesitate to buy another case from kavaj as the quality is like no other on the market. It seems their cases are designed to well outlive the devices you put in them!Thank you kavaj!

This is probably the nicest looking leather case for an iPad. It’s proper leather (not PU) so it’ll soften nicely with use, and fits the iPad snugly. It’s a slimmer, thinner end-product than other leather folio iPad cases. The look and feel are the strong points. What’s less impressive, and led me to return mine, is that the iPad is secured by leather edges. While these complement the rest of the case and mean there’s no plastic to compromise the natural leather feel, the leather edges overlap on the edges of the iPad screen and get in the way of typing and clicking on links at the furthest edges. I can imagine the leather frame borders will end up getting turned up as a result. I also couldn’t get the stand for viewing etc to work without toppling over. A note in the instructions says it will take time before it’ll stand up properly as the leather needs to become worn in first, but this doesn’t exactly inspire faith and I won’t take the chance of missing the return window in case it doesn’t. Worth considering if you want a quality iPad mini cover but don’t do too much typing, but be aware of these functionality flaws.

Have been buying the Berliner for all my different size iPads for years. They have a classy slim profile that fits the iPad snugly providing all the protection you need all round the iPad. Everything about these cases is top notch quality from the leather, the appropriate cut outs, the magnetic closure that wakes and sleeps the iPad to the way it folds in to various viewing/ typing positions. It also allows you to charge on almost any charging mechanism without taking out of the case. Cannot think of a reason why you would want to. The Berliner is well nigh perfect and way ahead of the competition!

Well done to the Kavaj team for improving an already great productI already owned a Kavaj case for an iPad mini 1. I loved the look and feel but there were a few minor improvements that would have made it better. This case for the latest iPad mini 5 addresses all those issues and still looks great!The improvements I've noticed are :- better fit- the magnets keep the front cover more securely closed in place now- the pull out flap that secures the stand is much easier to get out nowVery pleased customer!

Just buy it - you won’t regret it! The leather, and it is genuine leather, is absolutely beautiful with perfect stitching and it fits my iPad like a glove. Wears well and doesn’t stain easily. I have polished it a couple of times with leather balm to keep it in perfect condition. Have had it 16 months now and it is like new.
