Best supplement for older dogs!
This has changed my older (11 year old) dachshund's life. She has so much more energy and enthusiasm when she is getting this daily supplement. You can tell she feels better physically and her coat and eyes are shiny and bright. We can't give it to our younger dog because it makes him nuts!

Didn't work for my girl, but still using it
Read to the end to find out about palatability: I got this for my 11 year old Anatolian/Kangal that is currently on GlycoFlex. She is doing GREAT on GlycoFlex. Went from moderate arthritis, to running and jumping and playing like a pup... which anyone who knows the LGD breeds knows is unusual. This is a breed known for their inactivity until necessary. I read several reviews that said Longevity is a superb product, so I thought I'd try it out to see if there was a huge improvement. The problem is, she became incredibly itchy. She's allergic to duck and mildly allergic to other poultry. Perhaps there's some sourcing in there she had a problem with. She didn't scratch, but any time I petted her, she tightened her skin and you could see she was uncomfortable. I stopped feeding it and she went back to normal. Long story short, she's back on GlycoFlex. However, I had an expensive can of supplement to deal with. I have a 4 year old Old English Bulldog who turns his nose up at everything that's not steak or hamburger LOL... spoiled brat. He LOVES this supplement. Eats it right up, just adores the taste. Go figure! Even though he doesn't need the joint supplements yet, it's got other stuff in it that's pretty healthy. So, I have been giving him a small scoop of it every day just so it doesn't go to waste. I'll probably buy the individual ingredients off of bulksupplements and make my own for the old girl, and try again individually. But for those worried about whether your dog will eat this or not, my one dog didn't mind, and the other prefers it. It's VERY green, and smells green also, but they liked it.

Can cause intestinal distress!
I have a dog with arthritis and a touchy stomach. I started at a smaller dose than recommended but it was still too much for her stomach and she had terrible D and vomiting for two days (until stupid me figured it out). They do recommend starting with just a sprinkle and I may do that instead to try to get a better read on whether it will be good for her actual arthritis or not considering all the other good reviews. But just a warning...be very sparing if your dog has a tender stomach.

Not for my two.
I am sure this is great and works for some but the amount of digestion problems that it has caused my two 11 year old labs is not worth it. I will attempt something with less ingredients and see if that works.

My dogs can't eat it.
I have 6 English Bulldogs. All of them are great eaters but only 1 of my dogs will even touch this stuff. This is a green powder and it makes the dog's food smell like seaweed or kelp or something. It becomes a dark green mush and I'm not surprised they won't eat it. I only used 1 scoop and I can't imagine what 3 scoops would do. Dogs aren't vegetarians are they! For the one dog that will eat it, she will throw up her entire meal about 50% of the time. I'm sure it's packed with great and healthy ingredients but I had to stop using it.

... mini Doxie - he is 7 yo and in great shape with no joint problems
I bought this for my mini Doxie - he is 7 yo and in great shape with no joint problems, but I wanted to put him on something to help buffer against all the back/joint issues that these dogs are so prone to get. This product is AMAZING - my little guy I *thought* was energetic before, but now he acts likes he's a puppy on cocaine. He runs and plays like I've never seen him do before, to the point where it's disruptive to the household lol. I let my parents borrow some for their senior dogs, and they're amazed at the results they're seeing after only two weeks. A bonus: not only do the dogs feel better but their coats look great too. My boy is a very picky eater, but doesn't mind it if I use a tiny bit of olive oil to help bind it all together; also since he's only 10 lbs I use about 1/4 of the scoop provided. I will always feed this to my dogs, and will start them out when they're young!

Big difference in my 9 year old dog
My lab mix was 9 in October. She has hip dysplacia and had really slowed down a lot. She stopped getting up to greet us at the door when we arrived home, she stopped getting up on her spot on the couch, and began to limp some after walks. Based on other reviews, particularly the one about the extensive one about the German Shepard puppy I decided to try this.My dogs is just under 50 lb, and we started with 1/2 a scoop and have worked up to 4 scoops a day. We are almost done with the first container and she is SO MUCH MORE FRISKY. It has taken about two years off her age so far after 3 weeks of use. She is now jumps up as soon as she hears the garage door open and seems to be much more playful again, joining in games of fetch and perching back up on her spot on the couch. Due to the weather, I haven't taken her out on any walks since we started, but I've caught her trotting happy around the backyard again. My dog has never been a picky eater, and she just scarfs the green powder and licks the bowl clean. Interestingly, my 1 year old lab mix who is a very picky eater LOVES the green powder too. I give her 1 scoop a day since she is my running buddy to help protect her joints. The powder smells like the seaweed wraps used for sushi, which I can't stand, but my dogs love. It does not give them seaweed breath, nor any other changes in odor. Now if it only helps with shedding....

He's a scent hound and the smell is pretty intense so that may have something to do with ...
I had to ding this one star because one of my dogs absolutely will not eat it, even mixed in wet dog food. He's a scent hound and the smell is pretty intense so that may have something to do with it. It did not upset anyone else's bellies and they have been running around happy, so I would say if you have a typical chow hound who'll eat anything it's probably good. It would be nice if there was a small "tester" size.
