## Description

The revolutionary X-Brace system center support system is designed to be easily installed and help support your Full, Queen, King, or California King sized bed. Using the included legs, you can assemble this support system to adjust from heights as low as 6 inches, all the way up to 15-1/2 inches in height (measured from the floor to where the bottom of the box spring rests.) This unique center support system provides superior coverage under your bed to evenly support the box spring and mattress. The revolutionary X-System design creates a special synergy which adds an extra dimension of support to protect your bed and bedding, so you can protect your bedding investment and ensure a great night sleep. The legs of this support are easily adjustable to allow a wide range of height, accommodating almost any bed configuration. The support system also adjusts in width to fit Full, Queen, King, and California King sized beds. Designed for strong support of your bed. 3 sturdy metal rails and 3 feet hold your mattress in place. Replaces wooden bed slats. No more sagging mattress! The Positive-Locking leg design actually gets stronger when you apply the weight of the bed, with super strength to give you peace of mind. Since the three cross rails are all connected, this support stays in place over time. There are no complicated instructions to follow when installing this center support (although there are instructions in the box, just in case.) Using the unique "Gripper" Super Clamp, which comes preassembled, you can easily adjust the center support to the size of your bed and attach the pieces together to create a heavy-duty support system. The cross slats of this system have pre-drilled holes in the ends where they overlap your side rails, and are easily secured to the bed using the included screws. This ensures your center support system will not move around, and also protects your side rails from bowing or bending.

Review: Exactly what I needed - All needed hardware (9 nuts and bolts for the support assembly, and 6 screws for securing the supports to a wooden bed frame) are included - you will need a Phillips head screwdriver and a mallet or hammer. Setup was mechanically easy, though time consuming and a little confusing at times. The instructions are a bit light on exactly how the cross supports attach. One side of each cross support has a notch cut out of it - this notch fits around the horizontal angle bar and you attach to the top most bolt hole. It took a little bit to work out exactly which set of holes to use. I also opted to fully unscrew the feet from their plastic receivers and then hammer the receiver into the metal leg piece before screwing the foot back into the receiver. Though the plastic seems to be rugged, I doubt smacking the foot with a hammer and putting that stress on the threads is a great idea and others commented about trouble with the plastic threads failing and I imagine these two things could be related. I've seen others that added a nut to the foot to provide extra support and take some of the stress off the plastic threads, so I'll keep that in mind if I run into any issues though they seem plenty strong for the moment. You'll want to adjust the 3 cross bars to the correct length and lock them in place, attach the optional height extension brackets (leave the bolts finger tight only because you will need to remove one of them), and attach the feet, and then position the three supports paying attention to the orientation of the brackets so that all three are oriented in the same direction. Then attach the center support to the bed using the included screws, and then using the center bar as your reference point attach the cross supports and secure the bars to the bed. Lastly, adjust the feet down to the floor and give it a little test push to ensure there's no wiggle with weight applied. The supports are heavy angle bracket, so there's not much give to them - be sure those feet are all the way down or else you'll be putting all of the weight on the wood bed frame pieces and not realized it until you're on the floor. I was replacing a set of 3 cross supports with feet under a king sized bed. Those legs became damaged when the bed was moved, causing the legs to be pulled forward and twisting. Unfortunately, their design meant that there was no way to safely move the bed without fully disassembling it, which I learned the hard way. The new legs have a few advantages. For one, there is the crossing supports between each leg that prevents any front to back twisting which could otherwise cause the supports to turn and snap the screws securing them to the bed frame as happened with my old supports. The adjusting feet also mean that you can adjust the feet up to move the bed and then adjust them back down once it is in place again. Finally, these legs are quite rugged and would take some very serious conditions for them to bend or break. I'd expect the wood frame to break before these cross supports ever gave out. Once fully assembled and secured, this provided a rock solid platform for my mattress. Though this was a replacement after the previous legs failed and just about anything would have been an improvement, these supports are significantly more stable than the old original legs that came with the bed frame were when new. A nice upgrade overall and I'm very happy with my purchase.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I have a bed with metal side rails -- will this work with an all-metal frame? One reviewer says it won't, but the product description says it will work with both a metal and wood side boards. What's the story?**
A: This is a bit of a mixed answer - It CAN work with just about any metal frame, but it will be a lot easier with some frames compared to others. The support does include the necessary hardware to bolt to a metal frame. The tricky part is that with a wood frame, you simply screw the cross rails down where they rest. Most metal frames will have some holes pre-drilled in them along the rails, but the support may not perfectly line up with all of those holes since it has a fixed spacing between cross rails. With a metal bed frame, the options usually are:1) Rest the "lip" of the cross supports on the inside of your bed rail. Bolt down as many holes as will line up, leave the others resting. This isn't the most secure option, but will still provide good support.2) Drill 1/4" holes in your bed frame using a bit made for metal which will line up with the ends of the cross supports, so you can bolt down all six points.Using this with a metal frame is definitely possible and will provide good support, but it won't be quite as easy as using it with a wood frame. If your metal frame already has some pre-drilled holes, you may want to look at a support such as the Mighty Lift FQU-11 which doesn't have a fixed spacing - This will let you line up the cross rails with the pre-drilled holes.

**Q: Can these be screwed in directly to the wooden rails? do i need to add a bunkie board for additional support even though i have box spring?**
A: If you have a box spring no bunky board is required. I mounted my X-support system to the wooden rails that used to support the wooden slats on my bed. Used 6 wood screws to do the job, 3 to a side. My mattress is a heavy king and there are 2 box springs to support it. It all works well, no additional support needed.

**Q: Can this system be used under the "plastic boxes" on which a sleep number bed mattress rests?**
A: I would still put at least a layer of wood between the support frame and the mattress. I bought 1x10 yellow pine at Loews and covered the frame making sure the wood rested firmly on the bed frame as well. I used a regular sealy queen. I felt it gave the mattress solid support. I have a sleep number bed myself now. Because they are such an expensive unit, I wouldn't risk damaging the mattress. By the way, I got rid of the frame (nothing really wrong with it though) and went with the support unit with sleep number - the kind that can raise the foot and head. My back has been happy since. But I would never just put the sleep number unit on this frame without some other support - either the pine boards or plywood (3/4). Good luck.

**Q: Can the spaces between the slats be adjusted? If not what is the distance between them**
A: There are three slats; however, the space between can not be adjusted. The only adjustment that can be made is in the width, and height. You can adjust where you want to position the first slat with respect to the head of the bed. The slats are screwed into the bedframe to position them firmly, and I positioned them near where the old wooden slats were, but you probable have at least 12" of adjustment as to how close to the head of the bed you want the first slat. I hope this helps -- they worked great for me with a CAL King bedframe...

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Glideaway X-Support: Rock-Solid Bed Frame Fix with Lightning-Fast Delivery!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ GREAT Mattress support
*by F***N on February 15, 2022*

Re Glideaway X-Support Bed Frame Support System, GS-3 XS Model Got this for my queen bed and it much improved my bed. Get rid of old fashioned bed slats and get this! The support comes in a compact, fairly heavy package. It is made of sturdy steel angle irons and steel strips, took about fifteen minutes to assemble - easy assembly, you need only a #2 Philips screw driver and maybe a wrench or pliers. Most of the assembly time was fiddling around with the fit and placement. Once adjusted you tighten all fasteners and it is STURDY. It was a real pleasure in this throw away world to get a product that is very sturdy and well made. The fit is PERFECT. The frame can adjust to just what you need in both height and width. Accommodates metal or wood bed frames. If I could deduct 1/2 star for Ease Of Assembly I would only for this small reason: The instructions are a bit wonky, it was a little puzzling to fit the cross pieces (the notches go UP) and the height brackets (you may not need them at all - they extend the height for very tall beds). Also I suggest: after a week check the height adjustment on the three legs. They may "settle in" a bit, especially if you have carpets. A very good bed support frame.
