Makes your sink look new.
Kohler cast iron cleaner managed to make a white cast iron sink gleam and shine again. I like cast iron for its heft and the way it looks with that enamel finish. I also like any color the white, which is where a problem with hard water becomes noticeable. I live inHouston, Texas where the municipal water contains dissolved minerals which appear in colored sinks as white, amorphous forms when the drops have dried. Obviously since they are white, they aren’t noticeable in a white sink. Even though Kohler has around 18 colors available, the salesman said he sold more white than all the other colors combined and then some. Hopefully this sets the stage for what this cleaner does. I have tried products like CLR, Comet, Bon Ami and pumice and could not rid those white outlines. The Kohler cleanser is almost a turquoise colored paste, which can be applied to a Scotch-Brite pad or sponge with a little water and you will be able to rub out those mineral stains with a little effort. I suppose this is a case of matching the right tool for the job and this works exceptionally well. A little goes a long way as I used around six, nickel sized dollops of the cleanser to polish the entire sink. The first cleaning took the most effort with following clean ups taking much less work. So if you have cast iron that is a color white, this product will get the job done. If you find my review helpful please like. Make the white sink look new again.

Get this cleaner and a basin rack
We installed this cast iron Kohler sink in a rental unit about three years ago. While turning over the apartment between renters we found hundreds of gray scratches completely smudging the sink bottom. My partner says replace the sink with a stainless steel version and we will call this a lesson learned. On a whim I google cast iron scratched up and came across this cleaner. For under ten dollars, an hour of diligent scrubbing and the sink is saved. All the gray scratches and smudged bottom is gone. The deep dings chipped off remain but the scratches are far less noticeable. The ultimate lesson learned is use a bottom basin rack to protect a cast iron surface. I just ordered one and hope it arrives before the new renters. I took an after picture of the polished sink. No before picture unfortunately but imagine something grimy that was on its way to the dump. This polish saved the sink and fair amount of work to replace it. On a whim I polished a fairly old dryer that was in this same unit. This time I stopped after putting on a small amount of polish to take a before picture. I didn't really expect much but was happy with the end result. The middle right center of the dryer before picture has a nice example of a scratch that gets minimized. This is going off label on a use case for the cleaner but when you start with embarrassing what do you have to lose?

Mystery solved.
Kohler cast iron cleaner managed to make a black cast iron sink gleam and shine again. I like cast iron for its heft and the way it looks with that enamel finish. I also like any color other than white, which is where a problem with hard water becomes noticeable. I live in the Central Valley of California where the municipal water contains dissolved minerals which appear in colored sinks as white, amorphous forms when the drops have dried. Obviously since they are white, they aren’t noticeable in a white sink. Does what it’s designed to do.
If I could throw away my cast iron sink and trade if for a stainless steel one I would do it in an instant but financially it’s what I’m stuck with for the time being. This product does its job. Before using this product I would use Bar Keepers Friend with a Magic Eraser and that would do the trick just as effectively. Depending on your stains you may have to use a lot of force if you have lots of fine scratches. I’m my case this sink is really old and was here when I bought my home. Overall it doesn’t leave a scent and does what it’s supposed to. This is great if you have a newer cast iron sink but a bit more work if you have an old one that’s been beat up. This is probably the most cost effective way to clean those stubborn stains. The reason I’m giving it 4 stars is because it doesn’t protect as long as I wish it would you will constantly be using this product anytime you throw pots and pans into your sink. Just don’t buy a white cast iron sink and it’ll save you the hassle.

Works on slip-resistant tub surface!!
I just finished using this product on my cast-iron tub with slip resistant surface. My tub hasn't looked this good in years! Let me warn you that it will require some elbow grease, but its well worth the effort. Apply this blue cream liberally to all of the slip resistant area, and spread it around with a sponge. I used a little bit of water to dampen the area before applying. Let the product sit for ~ 35 minutes, and then get in there with a sponge and start scrubbing away. I only used the sponge and not the abrasive side. As it begins to work, and you see the old dirty treads come back to original color, you will be encouraged to keep scrubbing! I scrubbed my surface for about 5 minutes and then rinsed. The area looked soooo much better than when I started. I then repeated the process, and even used the residual cleaner to scrub the entire tub. When I was finished, my tub looked like new! And this was after many years of dirt accumulation on the treads.I am sure that if I maintain it every couple months, the treads will clean up much easier. I ended up using about 1/3 of the bottle for the entire job with two cleanings. Highly recommended!!!!!

Perfect for white farmhouse sinks
Our kitchen was renovated a year ago, and we chose a white cast iron farmhouse sink as it is both functional and beautiful. Within a few months, I noticed what appeared to be dark scratches and thought our sink was ruined. I cleaned with Soft Scrub and our ceramic stove top cleaner, which helped but did not eliminate the discoloration. I was very excited to try this product as soon as it delivered, and within a few minutes of scrubbing, the 90% of those scratches were gone. This product has a coarser grit than Soft Scrub for comparison; it feels sort of like a fine sand. I disagree with some reviewers who say a lot of elbow grease is required - only for deeper, heavier marks. Most marks will come out quickly. I also didn’t have to use a ton of product: maybe 1 teaspoon at the most to spot clean the entire sink. I can also see myself using this in our cast iron bathtub.

It works.
My Kohler sink is 25 years old and still in excellent condition. Although Javex quickly removes sink stains, over time it degrades the chrome finish on drain hardware. This product does not, and buffing effort is minimal.
