Wow. Lots of interesting recipes here, but far too many involve fish, and given the connection between aluminum and Alzheimer's disease, they use far too much foil. Perhaps they could be wrapped leafy greens or cabbage, or maybe in a covered stainless steel pot. The author insists on putting adverbs after the verb they modify, which may be a regional thing, given that N'Orleans was originally settled by the French. But even so, a lot of the language is tortured, and there is an overse of gerunds, and verb forms within a sentence or a list often disagree. I can't deny I want to try many of the recipes though. Then there are several recipes which are clearly mistitled, like "Grilled Turkey Meatballs" which consists of Swordfish Steaks. These kinds of mistakes are simply inexcusable. And they have the exact same recipe with the same photo, listed as "Grilled Albacore Tuna Steak" and "Traditional Grilled Tuna." But Banana Barbecue makes a great Dessert, Grilled Drunk Trout sounds interesting, and Grilled Herbed Baguette makes an interesting side dish. Some of the recipes show grilled veggies with the entree, but no recipes for those. Worth getting for the recipes, but the book seriously needs a good editor.

While the recipes look good, this book has very little to do with smoking meats. It is a grilling/BBQ guide. Don't get me wrong, I love grilling & BBQ. But based on the cover description (Quick-Start Smoking. . . ) I purchased it as a guide to smoking meats. The only smoking involved is the small amount of smoke you get from BBQ & grilling, which is not the same thing.The grammar is poor and leads me to believe that this book was simply translated to English from a different language without any editing or proofreading. I'll keep it because I can always use more BBQ/grilling recipes, but if you're like me & expect it to be a guide on how to smoke meats, keep looking because this book isn't that kind of guide.
