When stacked, these finely illustrated blocks become a Victorian style doll house. The interior of each of the blocks showcases a beautifully detailed room, complete with exquisite wallpapers, rugs, furniture and paintings! Finally . . . building blocks for girls!
My kids and my grandkids always love these stackable block sets. The boys like to stack them and destroy, use them as garages for their little cars.! The girls seem to like to relish their accomplishment a little longer. All sets I've seen before are in the "alphabet" style . . . primary colors . . . same ole, same ole. These caught my eye, because they are very girlish, and I knew my little granddaughter would love them. And she does!

Almost 5 stars
I thought these were wood but turned out to be cardboard so that was disappointing. My 3 yr old loves them though and the idea is a good one....just a little on the cheap side.

Unexpectedly Entertaining!
I came to my grandparents home and they had these blocks for the little ones. I did not think my 18 month old would like them but I was so wrong. She literally entertained herself with the blocks for at least 30 minutes. All of the other toys around make noise and are meant to hold the attention of a child. Yet they did not compare to these blocks. She did not stop playing with the. Until she had them stacked back in order. I love how it teaches children how to put things in sequence. She likes to also stack them really high and then knock them down. She actually had a lot of fun with them. The only thing I don't like is I don't feel as if they are really blocks and they are cardboard. Yet they are a pretty sturdy cardboard.

Lots of fun
My daughter loves dollhouses of all kinds, so I had to get these for her. They are really beautiful -- I love the detailed pictures of the outside of the house and the inside of each room. The outside features match the inside features: for example, if a stained glass window is depicted on the outside of a block, it'll be on the inside, too. And the outside windows have pictures of people using the room: the bathroom block, for example, has pictures of someone brushing teeth, shaving, and showering on the outside. We love playing i-spy with these blocks! And then we stack them, and line them up to put little dolls inside. When all done, my girl can nest them, learning size correlation and fine motor control. And her baby sister loves to knock down the tall tower when we've stacked them all up!My daughter loves playing pretend, and does not get much enjoyment out of toys designed purely for motor skills, so these are perfect. She can pretend AND develop her stacking, nesting, and size correlation skills. The art on the blocks is really sweet and beautiful, and there are lots of sweet details to discover inside and outside of each block. Also, for cardboard blocks, these are quite sturdy. My kids have even sat on them and they held up, though I don't recommend that! The only thing we don't like is the blocks are too small to really USE as a dollhouse, but small dolls like Little People figurines do fit inside most of them, and that's all my 2.5-year-old really wants at this point. The smaller blocks can't fit even small dolls (the smallest block is only about 1.5 inches cubed). But we knew that buying the blocks, so that's ok.

multi-functional toy
we dont' actually own one of these but i keep giving it as a gift. i love it. my daughter has one at daycare. it's great for stacking (motor skills) and matching the house and THEN, when you put the blocks on their side, they stack to create the audience-view of a doll house that can hold furniture and dolls. the art is lovely and the idea is really neat.

Don't bother.
Not worth the price. Nothing special about this set of blocks. I wouldn't give this any stars at all but the rating asked for one.
