Mammoth Boy Paperback – June 1, 2012

This was an unexpected read for me. Although the structure and flow of the book was very correct, I oft felt the words used to be too strange to English. I love to read Hart's books, but this one was so different, I could put this book down for a couple of days. Then, I'd remember, "Oh, I need to finish that book." His other books, I couldn't put down.

I really enjoyed this book...it was a haunting look at things long ago...though fantasy, I could not get over the feeling that it was inspired by personal memories of things that really happened!

very well written and thought provoking. leaves a lot of unanswered questions and much up to the imagination. I highly recommend this author.

I enjoy John Hart's books; however, this one was poorly written, full of misspellings, and ungrammatical. Besides hardly having a plot and no real conclusion. My conclusion is that this must have been Mr. Hart's first ever published novel.

This book gave a great deal of insight into the past of humans and how they struggled and gradually adapted to the environment.

I thought it was pretty predictiable and redundant. I enjoyed the first half but felt there was a lot of repeat experiences. Could be just not my cup of tea!

All of John Hart's books are amazing. I had this one put on my Kindle because I thought it probably would not be as much to my liking as his other books. I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed it, though it was totally different than his other novels.

I do believe that this story could have been so much better...there is huge potential but the characters are hard to believe in and although I finished it I found it a bit of a chore.

The atmosphere of the prehistoric era is well drawn, and the story is fascinating.

What a delightful story !! It was so well laid out that it flowed along with its continuity of training the boy.Although mythical, it still portrayed the struggle for life in a hostile world. I was taken by the whole story and I'm looking for a sequel or similar story.Syllabuss
