Excellent book on understanding our complex energy use
We don't think much about our energy use other than what we pay for it. This book is an eye opening journey into the complex topic of energy use in our world and the changes we need to make now or be forced to make later.

Great book for the class I'm taking
Received timely and brand new, as advertised! Great book for the class I'm taking, although the book seems to have a definite spin to it's essays and writings. However... a good spin may be needed to counteract the crazy anti-environment, pro-big-business spin coming out of the current autocracy in Washington DC.

saving human life on our planet
There can be no more important issue than the rapid overheating of our planet with its inevitable droughts, loss of arable land, acidification of the oceans, and massive reduction of land suitable for human agriculture. This book is an important contribution to solving this urgent challenge to human survival, which includes the need to restructure our economic model away from growth and into localized sustainability.

Covers a lot of areas
Lots of areas covered - very thorough from that standpoint. Some of the articles are a little preachy, but on the whole it was an informative read.

Extreme theories found here.
The authors of this book are quite extreme in their theories on climate and the environment. If you're a green extremist, you'll like it. For those of us who look for a middle ground approach, watch out.
