A Catholic classic, worth the price, both in content and quality of the book itself.
I'm just about 100 pages into the 550 pages and I am relishing a careful read of this book. The point of view is that it is aimed at the "pastors" of souls for explaining the faith. I suspect that it was written at a time when literacy was not all that common and learning was done mostly by rote instruction. It is edifying to read how the same faith was taught for hundreds of years after its publication. The scripture references at the time were to the Douay-Rheims Bible. I have a copy of the DRB on my Kindle and also on my smart phone. The DRB is a "translation of a translation" -- original language to Latin (by St Jerome) and then to English. Some verses make way more sense in the DRB than in the NAB, for example.

The real straight forward faith.
After studying 12 years in Catholic school, Catholic teaching is embedded in my brain; I just assumed the sisters taught it to us by memory and our religion books, but now I see this was their reference. If you really want to know your faith this is your source. The new catechism is all over the place and although it contains many truths and good information, it is not formatted to easily learn from it. The catechism of the Council of Trent is Catholicism straight to the point with no gimmicks.

Great book to defend the Faith
This is a great reference book to strengthen the already legitimate magisterium and Catechism we have of our Catholic Christian Faith

THE Catechism Every Catholic Should Have
There are many different printings of this catechism, but this is the one Taylor Marshall recommended. It’s beautifully printed, bound and laid out. There is an extensive index, which you very much need to help find specific content.Following the introductory material, the catechism reveals inner truths behind every word of The Creed, goes until extreme detail about the Sacraments and 10 Commandments (far more than you’d ever think to ask), and explains the meaning and relevance every word in the Lord’s Prayer. It’s essential reading for Catholics wanting a real grounding in the Faith.

I love and would recommend it.
It is exactly as described. I love the size and look of it. The hard cover is a big plus especially for the price. I have started reading it and am enjoying it. It is very informative and I appreciate the history behind its making which was described in the Introduction. The text very clearly printed. It is by no means large font but it is definitely readable and works very well for me. I love the book and would recommend it.

One of the best catechisms
This catechism was written for bishops to assist in the teaching of their priests. It is concise and precise, unlike many contemporary wordy and ambiguous catechetical texts. Some may question the value of using a preconciliar catechism. Just remember, Vatican II claims to not have changed any doctrine, only changed its presentation of the rites and teachings of the Church to speak more clearly to modern men. My experience is that this Catechism of the council of Trent speaks much more clearly, and since Vat 2 is not supposed to have introduced novelties this catechism should be a safe and clear alternative for contemporary Catholics.

A beautifully made edition of the Catechism of the council of Trent
I am reading this Catechism cover to cover. It gives in depth theology, leaving nothing important out, yet it is easy to read and understand. It covers more than recent catechisms and covers all aspects in meticulous detail.
