Works great thanks but you didn't send the past so I had to go to radio shack to buy it but it should come with the part if you say you are going to send it send the paste it is important for the installation

Got this fan pretty quickly and loaded it onto my computer right away. It has been working properly since then.

My fan was acting up, and I kept on getting a fan error message upon boot-up (saying that the computer had detected a fan that was malfunctioning or not running). However, I could hear the fan running at 100%, 100% of the time. So instead of sending my 2+ year old laptop to HP for them to charge me $100 just to diagnose it, I decided to put my limited computer hardware experience to the test to see if I could fix it.Using the instructions found in the "HP Pavilion dv7 Entertainment PC: Maintenance and Service Guide" found on the HP website, and a precision screwdriver set I had, I went at it. It ended up being a very simple fix. You do NOT need to remove the heat sink from the CPU, so don't worry about getting thermal paste or anything like that. I discovered that the control wire (the yellow one) on my old CPU fan was cut from improper placement by the manufacture. Tisk tisk HP.I re-assembled my laptop, fired it up again, and it sounded brand new! The fan runs just as quite as the old fan, and I haven't had any problems since the installation (it's been over 2 months now). If you are having a problem with the CPU fan, why not try this quick and easy $10 fix? You could save yourself hundreds of dollars!

Item was shipped quickly and resolved the noisy fan that HP had replaced twice under warranty. Its a pain to replace on a DV7-4070US as it requires dis-assembling the entire laptop. However I avoided buying a new laptop so the savings are worth the hassle.

The price was right and it really blows.

Purchased this to replace the cooling fan in my HP Pavilion dv-4083cl laptop with intel CORE I5 processor.The fan was an exact replacement with the exception that it had fewer fan blades. I have not had any overheating problems since installing this fan.

When I dismantled my HP Pavilion DV7 laptop, I found that this is the incorrect fan to replace mine. So now my laptop is in pieces, and I have to wait a week for the correct fan to arrive. The correct fan for my laptop is a model KSB0505HB. So beware, there are very different fans for the members of the HP Pavilion DV7 laptop family.

after disassembleing my computer, (useing you tube tutorials memorized) (I found hp had broken my left hinge screw mount when they replaced the fan while under warrenty) it seems they it was replaced with this exact fan that has run 3 1/2 years give or take couple hours here or there!!! It fit like a glove did not have to take off heat sink but this item did come with the heat grease witch i was glad to see hope i get 30,681 hours out of this one also!
