“Maat & Hathor” The goddess Maat was the Goddess of personification of basic laws of “existence”. The feathers of Maat were the symbols of truth, thus used in weighing the heart of the deceased in the Hall of judgment. Hathor, Goddess of the “House of Horus” was usually shown as a human form, waring on her head, the sun-disk flanked by cow horns. According to old myths Hathor was supposed to raise the youthful Sun up to Heaven by means of her horns.

Beautiful Work From Egypt
The papyrus is obviously woven of an organic material and the painted images upon this reed canvas are beautifully executed. The work came carefully rolled in a cardboard tube. There is included, a description of the goddesses and of certification the papyrus is real and made in Egypt. I chose the dominant colors of black and gold not the multicolor. I placed this in a black frame and hung by the Egyptian diorama I have in my office. A serious work of two feminine goddesses Maat and Hathor who personify the basic laws of existence.
