Jason Kaspersky writes of a.dark.and dirty.world. espionage.and terrorism. Its good.stuff.
Darker than.I expected and filled.with surprising twists and hard right turns. The main antagonist, David Rivers, is as brooding and savage as Marlowe.or Hawk.of the Spenser novels. He is not the hero we wanted but the hero we need, eh?Great work and.I hope the beginning of many more.

Great storylines with a need to be read.
Well written and all three books were page turners. I was surprised that the “new guy” started strong with minimal missteps and almost immediately had me first turning pages then waiting impatiently for the return of Mr. Rivers either with or without his compadres. Can’t wait to keep reading Jasons books.

AN UNUSUAL ADVENTURE SERIES
The genre is pretty standard - heroes that do amazing things, always winning against the odds, complex and rich and intelligent villains who always lose to the good guy and lots of shooting and action in between. This author has managed to create a complex plot that one can understand and follow. He has created a central character who is NOT necessarily a good guy but who manages to elicit at least some sympathy, and the author has handled the tricky business of ending one story - really ending it - and at the same time leaving a door open for the next one.I am not the one to say if something is great literature but it is great fun, and several steps ahead of most other "adventure" books.

Deep Story
It took me a long time to get into this book. A very depressed and depressing main character; a very complicated and confusing plot with many twists; and no indication who these people are and what is motivating them or what their goal is other than murdering people willy nilly. Hard to build any empathy with them. Halfway through the book I was struggling to motivate myself to keep reading it and considered not bothering to read the two remaining books in the three book set I had already bought. Finally well into the second half it started to become a little more interesting and more motivating to read. The author seems to have the skills and writing ability to make his characters and story gripping, but this book is so dark, it makes you wonder if he is in as dark a place as his characters. I am going to read book 2 and hope it gets better.

Action Packed
I’m glad this was a three book set, I read all three straight through. It was like reading one book, the transition from book to book was seamless. I don’t think you could read these in any other order, the story just would not make since, even though the author made references to previous happenings is the second and third books. It’s easy to see that Mr. Kasper was in the Special Forces, his knowledge of combat and weaponry is amazing. His writing is also intelligent, no glaring typos or grammar errors. I thoroughly enjoyed these books, and would have given them five stars, except, after reading several hundred pages of battle after battle, and numerous double-crosses, I began to tire of the twists and turns, and was finally glad to reach the end of book three. Still, it’s one of the best series I’ve ever read.

Great Character Development and Also Action Packed
Great books. I breezed through them! And not because the material is "easy" reading. The author does an excellent job connecting the reader to the character through his continual commitment to describing the main character's thoughts. But the clincher is that the character isn't some unrealistic super hero who is everything we wish we were. Instead, he is a person with a dark past who happens to seemingly escape death often, if only because he thinks he doesn't have anything to live for...

First one not so good- rest are amazing
I have read all the David Rivers books to date. I had read that others liked his books but that the first one wasn’t as good. If I hadn’t read that review, I would have stopped reading before getting halfway through. The first book was the most boring book I’ve ever read but it does set the stage for all the other books. I skipped through abs then immensely enjoyed all the other books in the series. They were riveting!!

American mercenary
Action all the way through the book. Characters for the most part are filled nicely. If you like this kind of book go for it.

If you haven’t read Jason Kasper don’t miss this chance
I have read the work of many of the best authors of this genre but when I discovered Jason Kasper and his hero David Rivers I couldn’t believe how I was captivated right from the start with this new series. David Rivers is a hero faced with extremely difficult moral decisions while dealing with non stop adrenaline packed challenges. If you are reading this review you are already curious about this series, read it and if you are like me you will then want to read all of Jason Kasper’s books.
