Works as designed, but low quality metal.
This Rancilio 58mm backflush disk works for backflush purpose, but the metal is low quality, not stainless steel. On the first use with Urnex Cafiza, the finish on the inside of the disc degraded around the edge of the flat portion of the disc. It's not simply discolored - the finish of the metal wore off, exposing a rough base metal. The photo was taken after only one use, and I suspect the rest of the finish will wear off during continued use. I would have expected cheap materials from an off-brand, but was surprised to see such low quality from a Rancilio OEM part. The Rancilio portafilter baskets (even the new 18g basket) are much higher quality and retain their finish through years of use and deep cleaning. Though this 58mm backflush disk is marked "Rancilio" there's a chance that it's a counterfeit part (which is a common Amazon problem due to the lingering effects of Amazon's inventory commingling, which it ended last month) or that Rancilio's supplier deceived Rancilio by providing an inferior pot metal part. Regardless of the disappointing material quality, the backflush disk works just fine.

A necessity for cleanliness
Espresso machines should come with these by default! I keep my machine clean by doing a couple flushes immediately after pulling a shot but it will be a lot easier and better with this now.
