Homebrite Solar Night Flag Kit

This is a great product. I use it in Southern California and it stays lit all night. In less sunny places I can see it potentially not staying lit as long.I replaced another flag pole with this one and this one does a much better job of staying lit as well as not getting tangled (I live where the Santa Ana winds come through and my house is facing the winds).The only downside is that if the flag does somehow get wrapped around the pole, the solar lights will keep flickering on and off until the flag is untangled.

Flag material is good quality. Lights are weak and only light up a really tiny portion of the flag next to the pole. Doesn't matter how much sunlight the solar panel gets during the day, the lights only last so long (not all night). The biggest issue is the wind-wrap protection doesn't work at all and flag is constantly wrapped around the pole whenever the wind blows. Better than no flag and flag without any light.

Not really worth the money in my opinion. To start with, the screws it comes with strip out before you can sink them into a piece of wood. They might as well be made out of aluminum. Don't bother using them, use your own. the bracket to hold the flag seems ok, even though it has a set screw from a wrist watch, but the pole fits into it like a hotdog in a hallway. the clips to hold the flag to the pole aren't worthy of holding a Christmas ornament. The pole at night does look nice.....except it wont last all night. I leave my house for work about an hour before sunrise and see that old glory has been hanging in the dark for who knows how long. One night it wouldn't even come on only a few days after I bought it. Great idea, but poorly made.

Living in a northern state, the days are too short to fully charge the battery for a full night-time illumination of the flag. Will re-assess with the days are longer and we actually have sun light to charge the battery. I may be investigating a better solution...

For the one, which likes to have the flag lit up at night, look no further. This is it. It's somewhat pricey; but thus far the product has delivered on its promise. Further, it will be a "show stopper/conversation piece" in your neighborhood too. 😀I hope it will last for many, many years of service.
